Captain America: Civil War currently has an overseas haul of $261.6 million, a mighty figure which means it's off to a very strong start before FINALLY reaching North America this evening (it's about damn time, right?). Marvel's first Phase 3 movie debuted in Italy on Wednesday with $1.2 million, while early estimates for midnight screenings in China reveal that it had the fourth biggest haul of all-time ($2.6 million) behind Furious 7, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Transformers: Age of Extinction.
Tomorrow is going to be an interesting day for those of you who like to keep a close eye on the box office as we'll have figures both from Captain America: Civil War's opening day in China and the evening/midnight screenings in North America tonight. It's then that we'll start getting a better idea of just how colossal a figure this highly anticipated release is likely to earn over the coming weekend.
So far, the movie has grossed a massive $35.2 million in South Korea, $31.8 million in the UK, $25.6 million in Mexico, $17.1 million in Brazil, $13.2 million in Australia, and $12.4 million in Japan.
Oh, and here's something which will make the "Marvel vs. DC" crowd happy (depending which side you're on). Needless to say, the sky definitely looks set to be the limit for Captain America: Civil War!
