CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR - 5 Batsh*t Crazy Theories About Who (Or What) Is In That Yellow Tube

Other than Spider-Man, one of the biggest talking points from the new Captain America: Civil War trailer is who (or what) on Earth could be in that yellow tube. Well, these are the craziest possibilities!

Easily missed on a first viewing, the new trailer for Captain America: Civil War features a very intriguing moment which sees a shadowy character contained within the same stasis tube The Winter Soldier is being taken out of at the beginning of this new look at the movie. While you would be forgiven for thinking that's Bucky in there, look closely enough and you'll notice that he's actually in the background fighting Iron Man alongside Cap.

As a result, that leads us to wonder who or what might actually be contained within that. Are Steve and Tony fighting to save - or destroy - whatever's in there, or could that mysterious character have even greater ramifications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Inevitably, we're left with a lot of unanswered questions, but I've done my best to answer them here with what I consider to be some pretty crazy theories about what that stasis tube contains. Some you may have already thought of, but others I'm sure will surprise you. The point is, Captain America: Civil War clearly has some surprises in store for us this May, and to discover what some of those might be, simply click on the NEXT button below.

5. A Clone

loading

Clones would make for a very interesting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and with a reboot of the Spider-Man franchise on the way, exploring that here could open the door to an adaptation of The Clone Saga. Back to Captain America: Civil War though and the big question here is obviously who that clone could be.

In the comics, the Red Skull once had his mind transferred into a duplicate body of Steve Rogers, but what if HYDRA managed to make another Bucky? For that matter, with Marvel unable to utilise the shapeshifting Skrulls, what if a familiar face like Black Widow or Iron Man is in reality a clone? Whatever the answers may be, I'd say a clone is a real possibility.

4. Red Skull

loading

I mentioned the Red Skull, and regardless of whether he's about to have his mind transferred into another body or has somehow been recovered from wherever the Cosmic Cube took him, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if the mysterious Baron Zemo is looking into a way to bring back HYDRA's founder.

It could be that Loki using the Tesseract in The Avengers somehow opened a door for the Skull to return to our world, but he was so badly injured or old that the terrorist organisation had no other choice than to hide him away in a stasis tube. It's hard to say for sure, but this clearly being an old HYDRA facility definitely opens the door to that figure being linked to them.

3. Quicksilver

loading

Quicksilver's death in Avengers: Age of Ultron was pretty definitive, but there have been rumblings of him having some sort of accelerated healing factor, so what if that Infinity Stone made the speedster even more durable than we realised?

Fans have speculated that none of those bullet holes were in places which were necessarily fatal, and we never got to see what happened to his body, so who's to say a guilty Steve Rogers or Tony Stark didn't place him in one of these tubes until a way to bring him back from the brink could be figured out? More likely than that though is HYDRA getting their hands on Pietro and brainwashing him into becoming the weapon Strucker intended.

2. A New Hero

loading

Marvel has found some very unique ways of introducing us to their characters over the years, so what if this mysterious figure is a major new addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe like Captain Mar-Vell? We know S.H.I.E.L.D. had the corpse of a Kree alien, so who's to say HYDRA couldn't have captured this superhero at some point?

Hell, a plot reveal like this could very well tie into Captain Marvel's upcoming movie AND Avengers: Infinity War in some way, though there are definitely a few other possibilities (Namor, Spider-Woman, and even one of the Inhumans are at least vaguely possible). We could very well have a massive surprise to look forward to here.

1. A "Dead" Villain

loading

Many villains have died over the years in the MCU, but what if one of them survived and ended up in the hands of HYDRA? Honestly, everyone from Malekith to Alexander Pierce and Aldrich Killian could be in there in some form, while another strong possibility is a once again human Abomination (him "Hulking out" and breaking out of that tube would give the heroes a powerful enough foe to unite against in the final act).

This fight between Steve, Bucky, and Tony definitely looks like it takes place at a late stage in the movie, so Captain America: Civil War's big bad being in there would work. I mean, let's face it, that's a more exciting possibility that it being War Machine...

Who do you think is inside that yellow tube? Someone listed here or a completely different character we haven't thought of? Take to the comments section below to let us know your thoughts.

@JoeMomma29 - the next button gets josh an extra 5 clicks, and therefore 5 times the impressions on the ads, and he cares WAY more about that than he does about the CBM community

@JoeMomma29 - to me the problem is when I access via mobile. reloads the whole thing and my phone is pretty slow. Besides it would'n hurt to put all the info in a single page.

@Akoni - Stop acing like pushing the next button is withdrawing money directly out of your bank account. You aren't paying any money or anyone's rent.

Don't get me wrong, the next button is annoying, especially on mobile devices. But lets not get overly dramatic here......

@mangomarn - Oh please give me a break. the world revolves around money and it costs money to keep this site running. Who cares if you gotta click Next a couple of times. Are you running on 56k or something? Or is he forcing you to insert money every time you click Next?

I dont see how this is hurting the CBM community. Hell if anything its improving it by having more professional articles and possibly more money coming from this site, that can later be reinvested in said site.
