Chris Evans And Anthony Mackie Compare CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR To Sibling Rivalries

Talking at D23 earlier today, Chris Evans (Captain America) and Anthony Mackie (The Falcon) discussed how the battle between the heroes in Captain America: Civil War can be compared to the kind of disagreements families have and tease the movie's "broader" action scenes...

"No, it's not MMA," Anthony Mackie replied in the video above when asked if the gloves will be coming off in Captain America: Civil War next year when heroes fight. "We definitely have gloves on, but it's more of a family dispute. That's what's so great about this movie and the characters and how they work together. It's more so when you have a sibling rivalry. The reason people can relate to these characters so much is because they can relate to what they're going through; everybody's fought with one of their siblings or one of their friends, wanted to make up with them, but couldn't figure out the best way to do it and that's kind of how Civil War works." That makes a sense given how close many of these characters are as former teammates in The Avengers, and Mackie's sentiment is one Chris Evans agrees with. "I feel like families, you have more struggles with the people you love because you care about them. You can't leave them, you have to make this work. It just feels like when you have a family dynamic of people that you may not get along with, but you can't just cut them out of your life, that's what makes the stakes so high."

Asked what new elements we should expect from the movie, Mackie added: "Our uniforms are new, and we have more action sequences done in a more broader capacity." Seeing as how two teams of Avengers will be battling it out, you would certainly hope that's going to be the case! Chris Evans meanwhile priased the fact that Captain America: Civil War makes time for continuing the stories of the supporting characters and their relationship with Steve Rogers. "Marvel has a lot of balls in the air, you've got a lot of movies that they're trying to bring together. The truth is, there's a lot of things they're trying to marry, and when you have characters like Falcon and Winter Soldier these movies are really effective in progressing those storylines. , even in just this movie alone, the relationship with Cap and Falcon and Winter Soldier." More comments from both actors can be found in he video above! Are you guys looking forward to the movie?
