With filming set to begin in the coming weeks, Captain America: Civil War is currently seeking background extras in Atlanta, Georgia, where the bulk of principal photography will take place before moving to several other locations. Following reports that the highly-anticipated Marvel sequel needed Southeast Asian men and women, Tammy Smith Casting now reports that Civil War is looking for "Upscale men and woman" (Men in dark suits and women in dark pants/skirt suits and/or dark conservative dresses ), "Military Men" (with real experience as Military or Weapons/ tactical training), "African men and women" (Nigerian, Ethiopian, Kenyan, etc in casual clothes or ethnic wardrobe), and lastly "College Students" (Ivy League College appropriate attire required).

The fact that Marvel is looking for African extras is likely in reference to T'Challa the Black Panther, who will be played by Chadwick Boseman in Captain America: Civil War (before the 2018 solo movie). The casting call implies that the African prince's nation of Wakanda will be a major setting in the 2016 movie, even though it's heavily rumored to debut in Avengers: Age of Ultron this summer. Anyhow, if you live in or near the Atlanta Metro area, and you wish to apply for any of the extra roles mentioned above, make the jump to Tammy Smith Casting HERE. What do you think?

Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chadwick Boseman, Frank Grillo, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie & Daniel Brühl, with appearances by Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson expected. The film opens May 6, 2016

Glad T'Challa will still have a role in Civil War! I was worried that Spider-Mans return would put Black Panthers role in jeopardy.

Yeeeeeeees. Finally some chocolate up in this vanilla swirl lol. I can only imagine...Cap invited to wakanda by panther, BP says he has mad respect for Cap. If they follow the comics route...maybe T'CHalla knows of how Cap met his father or grandfather if you wanna make it realistic age and time wise, in ww2. Cap helped defend Wakandan borders before he knew of its importance

Why I had to end up being a light skinned Black guy? Not that their aren't light skinned Africans, but something tells me they aren't accepting anyone no more than two shades lighter than charcoal black(joking).

T'Challa will most likely be pissed after Ultron and the Avengers trash Wakanda. With governemtn regulation being a big focus, he'll confront Cap and Iron Man. Spidey probably be a supporting character at best (representing those affected by the war, and probably what heroism is all about after Cap and Iron Man lose sight of that in their attempt at one-up manship at each other).

I think Puerto Rico will also double for Wakanda, but I do wonder where the Southeast actors will factor in (saying that as an Indian - American myself).

I wonder why the rate is different than what people got paid working as an extra on TWS. I got paid $10/hr, plus overtime for both days of work. Makes me think the pay rate is different in Georgia than it was in Cleveland. Although I could be wrong. With that being said, I still want to at least get down to Atlanta for a weekend when they're doing location shoots. Would be awesome to experience that again.

@ARandomSinisterClone you're assuming this casting call are the only extras.

Plus, Wakanda is an isolated, advanced country from the rest of the world. We the public don't have context on what they're doing with BP so calm down lol
