The one thing I'm not liking from the Civil War trailer

Don't worry, this is not a Marvel fan-boy wining. I loved the trailer. It's just one thing that is not even afecting my hype.

So the Captain America: Civil War trailer just dropped and man it was awesome... as you may expect everyone is now on the hype train.

But in all seriousness, there is one thing that's itching me a bit. In the trailer we see Tony Stark saying things like: "Sometimes i just want to punch you in your perfect teeth". When cap tells him that Bucky is his friend, Tony, feeling insulted, answers: "So was I". During the entire trailer, we see Tony angry at captain america as if he wanted to fight him, as if it was personal. Marvel is totally establishing him as the villain of the movie.

The Civil War story is not about that, it's not personal, it's about defending what you think it's right, it's about freedom versus security. It's a dilema. In the comic, it's not hero versus villain because they are both right. One defends the fact that superheroes must work for the government and be registered so they can be responsable for their acts and for the possible casualties. The other defends freedom and the fact that you can't make someone work for the government just because that someone is gifted. It's a dilema. Do you think iron man felt good when Goliath died in the comics? Do you think that 24 hours before the aproval of the law, he felt good going door to door telling about the registration act to all of the superheroes? How do you think he felt when Cap died? or when Thor returned and found out what had happened? Or when Aunt May was shot because spiderman had revealed his identity because of him.

Iron man didn't want to punch Cap in his perfect teeth...

He just does what has to be done. Iron Man is brain, Cap is heart.

It's just that this movie has so much potential to separate itself from the Marvel formula in a big way: I didn't want this movie to have a villain. I wanted it to make the audience think about it. Who was right? But after all, it's a Captain America movie, not an avengers movie, so i guess Iron Man will be a bad guy.

But the trailer is still awesome and i am super hyped. I understand that the movies are not like the comics, it's totally fine (Please don't get me wrong). I am very much looking forward to this. So that was my take, what do you think about what i've just said? Please hit the like button if you liked it. Let me hear you thoughts on it. I am BaronZemo.

I don't see that at all in the trailer. They don't need to do anything to make Tony the bad guy other than put him in the position he is in.... catch Bucky, register enhanced people... for him and Cap to be at odds. They aren't going to go the route of really trying to make the audience dislike Tony because Iron Man really is one of the droving forces behind the franchise.

Why do you have an issue? It's the MCU not the Comic universe. It's supposed to be different. The MCU needs more personal stories, it's better storytelling and will keep the audiences in the seats longer than big epic Save The World/Universe stories. Those are fun, but we need the smaller stuff to build up to that stuff. it's like palette cleansing.

@Wallymelon
Why do you suddenly bring up the scale of the stories? I haven't adressed that at any point.

Never felt that Cap and Stark were friends in the movies rather they just put up with each other. I have this feeling that their relationship is going to feel forced in this movie.

I thought it was just a teaser trailer not the real trailer; so we might be missing a few more tidbits.

But this is the only trailer I care about!

I got that Tony wanted to be accountable for his actions in AOU. Which would put him in line with the government. Of course he would want to push his agenda to the rest of the Avengers team. Cap would be the best one to go against him, and have the most moral strandpoint to do so.

Tony doesn't say the "So was I" line because he's insulted. He says it because he's hurt, hurt that Steve is choosing Bucky over him. Were they best friends? No, that is reserved for Bucky and Falcon. But by the end of AoU I think that Tony did see Steve as a friend. Face it, even with Rhodey Tony has had rocky relationships with his friends.

Many of you may not realize this, but Agents of Shield has already begun laying the foundations for these Accords, and Hydra's involvement, which I think will lead to Baron Zemo. Coulson was supposed to attend a meeting with the president to discuss what to do about enhanced humans and Inhumans, a meeting attended by a high level Hydra agent. (Think his name is Mallick.) So clearly there will be a villain besides Tony. Plus, it seemed like Ross was set up as a villain too.
