Speaking with MTV News recently, Chris Evans was asked if he did much of the stunt work for the upcoming Captain America:The First Avenger.

"The good thing about Cap is that most of his abilities are rooted in what a human being is capable of — he's not flying, he's not shooting fire. For the most part, the stunts involved were hand-to-hand combat, so any time I can put the gloves on and get in the ring, I'll do it."

He continues on and almost spills the beans on some of his favorite action sequences...

"There are a couple scenes, but I'm not going to tell ya. We've got some good fight sequences. There are some big ... you'll have to go see [the movie]. You'll have to go see it."

He had the following to say after listening to a Captain America toy he is handed...

"These are all things my mother will collect and will fill our entire basement with."

"Courage does make a hero. He speaks the truth."

After being deemed unfit for military service, Steve Rogers volunteers for a top secret research project that turns him into Captain America, a superhero dedicated to defending America's ideals.

Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger starring Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell and Tommy Lee Jones is set to hit theaters July 22nd. That would be this Friday!

Hawksblueyes: After reading countless interviews with Evans, it should come as no surprise that he seems to have a difficult time looking at an action figure without making lite of it.

Off-topic slightly, everyone should go and read Karina Longworth's negative review of TFA on rottentomatoes.com ... She criticised the film mainly because it doesn't tackle real historical issues and that it gives a false representation of the 1940's; most of all the way in which the cosmic cube wasn't a documented weapon used by the nazis... The internet is trying their darndest to boycott her review because, everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course, but she can't seem to wrap her head around ANY works of fiction whatsoever (her list of 'bad' films this year also contains Thor, X-Men First Class and Super 8, to name a few) and doesn't particularly deserve to be a reviewer in any sense of the word.

Sorry nail. I rarely beat anybody with a post these days. =P

SUPER: I read her review. The lady is so off base that almost everyone who read it is telling her about it. Some people fail to understand the word "fiction."

oh wait, just read the really negative review from the Village Voice. Well, that's just 1 review. Where are the others?

@Super & Hawksblueye to be fair, her criticisms extend beyond that. She also mentioned that various aspects of the plot failed to be elaborated to the point that characters or actions of the characters become believable or understandable. For example, she mentions Hayley's role as being undefined and is just there for eye candy and that the core ideological beliefs of why the parties fight against one another are never really spelled out. Whether this is true or not can be debated. We have yet to hear other reviews nor see it ourselves. But she is entitled to her opinion and Village Voice is a known website so it's not like she's completely without reason or ability to review movies.

Indestruktible, you make good points, but I read it too and....well, is she REALLY saying they should have cleared up why the Nazis and Allies (and by proxy, Hydra and the Commandos) were at odds? Despite Indiana Jones battling Nazis, he never had to stop and explain the nuts and bolts of WWII, the Holocaust, the "Final Solution," or anything else. Why CA needs to do that is beyond me. If someone watching this movie doesn't understand the hows and whys of WWII, they need to leave the movies and go pick up a 7th grade history textbook, IMHO. Plus, I have a suspicion that Steve watches newsreels depicting Nazi atrocities at some point. (Or at least I hope he does.)

Also, even though I'm too lazy to look, Roger Moore reviewed the movie (yesterday) and it was positive, as was a contributor's from another site that someone linked to in an article here earlier today. Just look in the CA group and they should be in the top 5 or 10 articles.

@SUPERSP00NS

Sure the absense of Nazis might be an issue but what about idea of Gods as aliens or mutants having a hand during the Cuban Missile Crisis? Isnt this the point of Comic Books to be FICTIONAL?

People are entitled to their own opinions and taste but hating on not just about every CBM but Super 8, 500 Days of Summer, Gran Torino and Up in The Air yet she likes that atrocity that was Cop Out? She lost all her credibility because of that..

This is why I dont listen to critcs
