The last time we saw Chris Evans' Steve Rogers was in the closing moments of Avengers: Endgame. After returning the Infinity Stones to their rightful place in time, he decided to remain in the past and grow old with Peggy Carter, a touching note to end his story.
Showing up on a nearby bench - suggesting he'd secretly existed in the MCU's main timeline - he gave Sam Wilson a reforged version of his shield and passed the Captain America mantle to his old friend. We haven't seen him since and we're still unsure how his trip back in time worked with what we've learned about the Multiverse since then.
Yesterday, we told you about rumoured changes to Marvel Studios' slate, and now have additional details - from r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers - about a supposed Nomad TV series.
It's said that Evans will return as Captain America, producing the project alongside co-star Scarlett Johansson. Apparently, it's here we'll finally get to see what happened when Steve returned the Infinity Stones, and the show is described as being a Multiversal adventure.
We're guessing Natasha Romanoff would be a Variant based on the way Black Widow ended, though this also feels like it's verging on fan fiction. In fairness, though, this page has been the source of many reliable scoops in the past, including full plot leaks for movies like Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and The Marvels.
Another interesting note is that Marvel Studios is now looking to give TV shows like this one a more cinematic feel, suggesting Kevin Feige plans to take a different approach to small screen storytelling moving forward.
We'll see if this pans out, but with the many projects being produced by Marvel Studios for Disney+, it's hard to escape the feeling Nomad would feel like just another TV series, even with Evans and Johansson involved. Plus, if those characters are set to return, does it not make more sense to have that happen in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars?
