UPDATE: Another New Photo Of Chris Evans As Steve Rogers!

It's not that big, and he's not in the costume, but hit the jump for yet another photo of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers on the set of Captain America. And we now also have a high quality version of the previously released image of HYDRA goons!

Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy's earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment... Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the 'Super-Soldier Serum' and bombarded by 'vita-rays.' Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and leader of the Avengers.

Thanks to the guys at French website, CineComics, and a tip off from SpiderMedia's "RealIrOnMaN", we have yet another (unrevealing) look at actor Chris Evans as Steve Rogers.

UPDATE: Thanks to Cine-Heroes and RealIrOnMan, we now also have this higher-res image of the HYDRA soldiers that was released a few days ago as a fairly blurry scan.

Captain America: The First Avenger is set to be released on July 22, later this year!

I agree with Naji, except for the modern costume.

Seems pretty presumptuous of Fury and Stark to think, "Hey, this guy we fishes out of the arctic, who's from the forties and thus has lost all his loved ones and everything he knows without knowing it? I bet he'll want to join the band"

That's just a synopsis made up by someone don't give a damn if they make sense or not. He grew up during the great depression, but was born in the early 20's.

I really don't get the way, people judge movies around here. It's like, at one point, they decide to either condemn or love a movie, taking EVERYTHING the get to see of it as a point in case for their respective preconceived opinion on it.

..."Andrew Garfield has stupid hair: FAIL"
"Spider-Man doesn't have a belt- thing: FAIL!"

"But man, Chris Evans' handsome smile convinces me that we're in for one hell of a movie!"

@TwoToGO Yeah I have always been bewildered by that because the movie isn't out and some set pics have been released but this movie could be very bland because of Joe Johnston. I think Spiderman reboot will be good, just because they wanted a new suit doesn't mean its bad, they just didn't want to be recognize with Raimi's series, I mean could you imagine Nolan's Batman series with the same yellow Bat symbol and armor as Burton's no.

Worlds greatest, with a monkier like that , i would imagine that you would be able to understand that most of us commentfor to reasons to be heard or read , and second to issue our point of view, some of build our comment by looking at the information given: Plots from the movies, comments from the directors and actors , look at set photos and costume design and then we build our opinions, Like a proper Detective would. Everything I have heard up to this point has been great the set photo s look amazing, Costume design is great IMO, and Storyline sounds like it fits to MY expectations. As far as Spiderman goes I liked what i was hearing until this week with the whole two spidey's, and no im not crazy about the costume , but I d let that slide. Xmen first class on the other hand is the perfect example of bad, The storyline is horrible , the casting is ok , the costume design horrible, the comments coming of set have been mixed , eeverything adds up to a crappy movie

@LocoLobo1127 yes I understand but you talk about director and actors but I feel like the whole picture is not look at just the one people want to see. Now I want a good Captain America movie (My favorite Marvel Hero)but Joe Johnston is directing it and his movies are very bland and kind of lose you look at the Wolfman, October Sky, and Jurassic park 3. Also the hydra soldiers to me look too GI Joe type, the ones on the motorcycle and the first realesed image of the costume when they are surrounding Cap America. Now for spider-man (one of the superheroes I hate most) I like Mark Webb, because of (500) days of summer so his style should fit Spiderman. Also Andrew Garfield is a really good actor and not just from the social network but his past movies, the new suit is different, Emma Stone is playing Gwen Stacey, and you really have some great support as Martin Sheen, Rhys Ifans, and Dennis Leary (Cap. has an even better supporting cast with hugo weaving and Tommy lee Jones, but certain elements pulls me away from the movie ) Also Marvel Studios movies have in my opinion gone down a notch with each movie with Iron Man 2 being a severe disappointment for a group of people like myself and didn't even meet Iron Man 1 domestically at the box office even with inflation and higher prices. Now does sony have a better track record no but I could see them learning a lesson after spider-man 3 by seeing that many people enjoy Nolan's batman movies because of his style and somebody like Mark Webb could be a great fit on Spider-man and maybe they shouldn't force villains like venom into a story. Now we all know Xmen first class is looking bad we look at Fox's history of Superhero movies, the set looks cheap as do the costumes, some really bad casting yeah it makes sense it would be bad because it doesn't cause any doubt in my mind. But you never know Matthew Vaughn could surprise us all by it maybe going back to the first 2 x-men movies of quality (that is only 5 percent chance though)

I was a big fan of Chris Evans before he was cast as Captain America, but have always been convinced that he'd be amazing in the role. That picture just screams Steve Rogers. And although I'm not gay, TheBlackWidow is right - he's one handsome bastard. :P

@MultiPurposeNaji

I wasn't talking about anyone in particular. It's just a general vibe I get from many people on this site.

But what am I gonna bitch about. I'm just saying people should enjoy their anticipation for a movie, or remain critical but not just DECIDE on one beforehand and then use every glimpse of a movie to support their 'opinion'. It's good to have an opinion, but it should be based on something other than knitpicking.

When the official picture of Garfield in costume was released, everyone seemed happy with it. Now everyone hates the costume and wonders why it looks so shitty on the set pictures. Maybe, because NO ONE WAS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO SEE THOSE IN THE FIRST PLACE. It's kind of like judging by set pics of Avatar, going: "This movie sucks, it's all just people in front of green walls and shit".

...and about the two Spidermen: Stunt double. No Hockey Pads.

In classic comics, Captain America was found after a battle between Namor and the (then) Avengers. Cap was subsequently accidentally thrown into the ocean, which thawed him out.

In theory, the only thing I could see him surviving (while being completely frozen) is liquid nitrogen. It makes more sense than him just freezing into a random block of ice. Antarctic weather can't even do that. This is more of a commentary on his comic origin than on a movie (which I haven't seen yet). Maybe a weapon on the plane has to be kept at a subzero temperature, during the plane crash the containers break. Instant Steve Rogers popsicle. If it's not this, I hope they have a creative explanation.

@Naji - I like that concept, but it's used too much in CBMs. I think it worked best in the Incredible Hulk, but I wouldn't wanna see that same formula used over and over, again. It'll get repetitive that way.
