It was quite a shock when DC decided to kill off Darkseid in the issue of Justice League #44, but that didn't stop them from throwing us some more curve balls in the huge and fantastic story arc of "The Darkseid War".

In the wake of Darkseid's death, the entire Justice League is left uncertain of what is to come now that a god has died. After the Anti-Monitor killed Darkseid by using a Black Racer infused Flash, the entire universe shook and the death of DC's most powerful villain echoed across the universe, finding it's way to Apokolips, where all of hell is about to break loose. Although Darkseid is now dead, his power known as the "Omega Effect" is now loose and headed back to Apokolips to find a new host.

I like this series but damn it Johns you couldn't go any different directions? Batman God of Knowledge? Superman God of Strength? Wouldn't it have been far more interesting if for example both of them were switched? And maybe even have Shazam or Flash be the God of Apokolips?

Not that it's bad but it feels like the god picks for the JL is so generic.

This series was awesome, how Anti-Monitor use Flash was insane.

One thing about this Justice League series it needs more Martian Manhunter. Sadly I don't see him getting his JL status back.

@ZENTAUR Jason Fabok, Jim Lee, and Gary Frank are my top three favorite artists for DC. And don't worry, Fabok will return in Justice League 47

Every time I see a Fabok cover, something about it just screams EPIC. They always look amazing and they feel like movie posters, they also have a hint of the original Star Wars posters.

In the current Darkseid-war, half of the JL are gods.
Batmam: god of knowledge
Flash: god of death
Lex Luthor: god of apokolips
Shazam: god of gods
Superman: god of strength
