COMICS: Shocking News As Brian Michael Bendis Departs Marvel And Signs Exclusively With DC Comics

Best known for his work on heroes like Spider-Man, Iron Man, and The Avengers, Brian Michael Bendis has decided to walk away from Marvel to sign an exclusive contract with their distinguished competition.

Brian Michael Bendis has been with Marvel Comics for what feels like forever. He created the Ultimate Universe with Ultimate Spider-Man, not to mention Jessica Jones, the New Avengers, and stories which completely changed the landscape of Marvel. Currently, he's working on Iron Man and the Miles Morales version of the wall-crawler but it looks like that will come to an end sooner rather than later.

As you can see below, DC Comics has announced today that Bendis has signed an exclusive contract with the company and will presumably start wrapping up his Marvel work in the very near future.

Considering the fact this is a "multiyear" deal, we can probably expect Bendis to be a key part of the DC Universe moving forward and it will be interesting seeing which characters he tackles first. He's known for writing multiple titles at a time (which often tie together somehow) so anyone is a possibility at this stage! What do you guys think of this news? As always, let us know your thoughts down below.

I definitely sense the gnarled hand of Perlmutter behind this decision.
