Nicolas Winding Refn, director of masterpieces such as Drive and The Neon Demon, has expressed an interest in helming a Batgirl standalone movie. The Danish filmmaker had previously said that he would love to direct a Wonder Woman standalone movie, but that was years before Patty Jenkins was announced to helm it.

"God, I would love to make one, it would probably be great fun," Refn said regarding comic book movies. "I just don't know when it's going to happen. I very much enjoy my freedom creatively, but I also would love to make one of those big Hollywood films that costs a lot of money and has a lot of people running around with cell phones and all that insanity."

Here is what the Danish filmmaker had to say about which comic book movie he would direct now: "What ones are left?" Refn asked himself outloud. "You know the one I want to do? I want to make Batgirl. Let's get Warner working on it."

Do you think Warner Bros. should hire Refn to direct a Batgirl standalone movie? Sound off below! The Neon Demon is now playing in theaters.

I could definitely see this guy doing any Batfamily film, even if The Neon Demon is shit, Drive is good enough for me to be on board with anything he makes

@Battabing - The story's shit. Visually it's damn good. But like I said, he made Drive, so I still think he gets a few free passes because hot damn Drive is good.

Drive and Bronson were amazing. Only God Forgives and Valhalla Rising were crappy.

If he brings on Christina Hendricks I'm all for it tho.

Great director but would need to have it be more Drive and Bronsonish for the general audience. His last 2 have not done well with regular movie goers.
