Why I think Ben Affleck will be a great Batman

Why I think Ben Affleck will be a great Batman

Well firstly I will start that in my opinion WB made a mistake announcing that Affleck will be taking the mantle from Bale.I think people would have not reacted so outraged against the choice if it was announced maybe few months later after the Batman Rises came out.For me Affleck will do it and I will try to show few examples I have later on.

First off Affleck is a great screen writer not only an actor.Affleck himself has stated that when he was approached for the role they explained what they wanted to do.He deffinetly put real thought into the project and analyzed if he can make that particular charatcer come to life as in the script.
Second I think he is ready for a solid comic book role. Some poeple may be too young to remmeber but when "Armageddon" came on,people were hyped how good Ben Affleck played the role. The cast was really famous at that time for that movie,so for him to have such a strong supporting role next to Bruce Willis,Steve Buscemi and others he did good.
Third reason although people might not take him seriously he gained fame after "Good Will Hunting".Both he and Matt Damon wrote the script.Another good example for me is "Dogma".When he had to be a bad fallen angel he definetly delivered everything he had to to that specific role.
To be fair though his "Daredevil" is the weakest link in his filmography which is the reason many people think he will flop as Batman.
He can do serious in my opinion and can reflect the intensity and charisma that Batman can create.
In the end we have a year to see how he prepares and see the end result in 2016.

Ben Affleck is at best serviceable. I have never seen a movie and thought, wow Ben was the only one who could pull off that role (ala Johnny Depp in most of his work) or even thought , man Ben Affleck is really killing this. I have always overlooked him because of his lack of that special thing that people like Ewan Mcgregor have. He is a tall good looking man with thick hair so he gets movie roles. He does bare some resemblence to Bruce Wayne but he has never seemed smart to me in a role, even when his character is smart his head is too freaking big.

@ huckfinnisher I tend to agree with you but I think this will be "it" for him. But to tell you honestly after I saw the Suicide Squad cast I knew DC wanted already proved actiors of a sort. Jared Leto- got an Oscar. Will Smith- gigantic name. Same thing with Affleck. I think he will do it. I could be wrong but we will see.
Also I cannot even imagine another actor playing Obi Wan if it is not Ewan it will suck.

Remember how people reacted to Michael Keaton and Heath Ledger casting in Batman-films...and that turned out how?

@Odin Hahah bet Superman is sad. But honestly we saw Henry and we know ge can pull of a second to Reeves Superman. But Batman however... First step into uncharted territories for the franchise. And I tottally agree that Affleck can end up like Heath or Keaton. However I am not sure if WW in this movie is a good idea :/

Sweet article dude, Ben Affleck really started getting my attention with "The Town" and then "Argo". He did some really good directing work and I think it's going to help his acting skills as well, especially in a big role like this.

You do realize that Affleck was nominated for a razzie as WORST actor of the DECADE, right?

Yeah, he's an "amazing" actor! Puh-leeze! He's just himself or a caricature of himself in EVERY friggin movie.
