SPOILERS: Rorschach's Resurrection Was Finally Explained In DOOMSDAY CLOCK #1 But Brings A New Mystery

Doomsday Clock #1 is now on sale and with that recently released preview of the issue getting everyone talking due to the inclusion of Rorschach, we finally have an answer in regards to how he returned.

At the end of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' Watchmen, Rorschach was literally blown to smithereens by Dr. Manhattan. All that was left of him was a bloody patch on the ground and the diary he had delivered to the press which revealed the truth about Ozymandias' plot. Well, in today's Doomsday Clock #1 we learn that Rorschach is back among the living but it's clear something isn't quite right.

This Rorschach may look and talk the same but he prefers pancakes to beans and while he's brutal with his methods, he's not quite as violent. He's also not massively confident and while Ozymandias is scared of him (yes, he's alive but is suffering from a brain tumour), he quickly points out that he's not Walter Kovacs. In fact, he proves it by removing his glove and revealing that he's African American!

This is clearly a game changer and it's hard to escape the feeling that whoever the new Rorschach is will be a big reveal and quite possibly a character we're familiar with (even if they're a doppelganger of someone from the DC Universe). We'll have to wait and see but it's clear that the original won't be resurrected and that's probably for the best. What do you think of this reveal? Sound off below!

First?
I'd like to thank Josh for making many articles and giving me a chance to be first.
Appreciate the useless recognition and waste of a comment.

I think the new Rorschach is his psychiatrist in jail (parhaps that's why he's in the jail too)in the original Watchmen.

He’s going to end up being John H. Irons (Steel) and they’re going to tech him out with new gadgets in his arsonel.

How long after Watchmen is this set? Any chance it's the kid from the newsstand in the original who was reading the Black Freighter comic?

@AC1 - thouth too but he was blown up by the bomb/alien in NY in the original Watchman comic. But the time set up is important too.

Good twist, i knew Geoff would respect Walter's death.
People probably were waiting for a bombastic first numeber and... yeah this is not that type of comic, nothing wrong with that, Geoff does that all the times, but this time...
He's gonna go deep down the rabbit hole! :P

Lots of questions tho. Even when it comes to the Kents for example!

@Doomsday8888 - I presume that we saw an alternate universe Kent family? Or was that scene set in the 52 reality, where perhaps Manhattan is tweaking history?

@rabid -
I think bit of both actually.
Mostly New 52, cause this pretty much happened in the Morrison run, but in that case, a lil imp from the 5th Dimension was the villain not Manhattan (not mxy either).
Now i dunno, after Superman Reborn history/continuity changes, so it could be anything.

Probably gonna be the biggest story of 2018. DC's already announced a second printing.

The Green Lantern Simon Baz isn't black, but he is dark skinned, and he's made it known that he loves pancakes.
