AMADEUS CHO 20TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL Will Set The Stage For The Totally Awesome Hero's Marvel Future

When Amadeus Cho burst onto the scene in 2005's Amazing Fantasy #15, no one could've predicted the epic journey he'd take across the Marvel Universe, rising through the ranks of Marvel superheroes as a Champion, an Agent of Atlas, and even a Hulk.

However, despite his many achievements on the page, Amadeus - who can currently be seen in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man - was recently cut from Captain America: Brave New World

Despite that, this May will celebrate this one-of-a-kind breakout superstar in Amadeus Cho 20th Anniversary Special, a special one-shot packed with thrilling, moving, and revelatory stories set during the different stages of Amadeus' wild history. The comic will reunite the character's acclaimed co-creators, writer Greg Pak and artist Takeshi Miyazawa, and also feature art by rising stars Creees Lee and Jethro Morales.

In addition to exploring key moments of his past, the one-shot will also set the stage for Amadeus' exciting next chapter...

  • Join Amadeus, Hercules and the Renegades on the eve of World War Hulk!
  • Return to the era of the Totally Awesome Hulk as Amadeus and his sister Maddy Cho discover a long-hidden secret that might just break your heart.
  • Finally, Amadeus in his Brawn era tackles a shocking new threat - and emerges in a whole new form?

"I'm a little stunned that Amadeus Cho has been around 20 years now and absolutely thrilled that we're celebrating with this big one-shot," Pak shared. "I knew we had something special when Tak Miyazawa sent in his very first awesome designs of Amadeus and his pup and scooter back when, but I don't think any of us could have predicted how the character would absolutely take off."

"Huge thanks to everyone who's ever picked up a story with this scrappy underdog and enormous love to every artist, editor, and writer who's ever contributed to his saga - especially Tak for co-creating Amadeus, Mark Paniccia for editing most of his stories, and Incredible Hercules co-writer Fred Van Lente for telling so many of Amadeus's key stories with me!"

"Amadeus has been through a wild range of adventures - and physical forms - over the past twenty years, and this one shot will reveal big secrets and tap into new emotional depths at key moments in his life," Pak continued. "I'm thrilled to be working with Tak again as well as incredible artists Crees Lee and Jethro Morales. Dontcha dare miss it!"

2o years old already and still a niche character that only die-hard fans know.

When Hulk was 20 years old he was one of the biggest characters on the planet, live action TV show, cartoons, merch galore. He was as big as Superman, Batman or Spider-Man!

Catch up kid.

Him taking over on the Hulk and his insufferable genius portrayal in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man haven't served as an endearing introduction to the character... (Good show though)

What's he got going for him?

@Slotherin - I really like the show, but agree with you. Not sure what was their plan for his character. It's like their goal is to make him as unlikeable as they possibly can. Leaning heavily on the super smart Asian kid stereotype.

Epic journey? Most people couldn't pick him out of a lineup. That amazing hulk run was over so quick, no one remembers it.

Idk, speaking for myself only, when you dilute what makes a character unique, it kinda takes away from all related characters.

Spider-Man is cool, Spider-Kid, Spider-Pig, Spider-etc cheapens the brand

Hulk is cool, She-Hulk was at least hot, but then Red-Hulk (still cool), Amadus, Abomination, etc… same thing.. makes OG Hulk slightly less special

Wolverine, X-23, Daken.. the examples are self explanatory

This applies across brands, DC is guilty of this too

Lack of new ideas, or just cash grabs, who cares. Watering down unique characters with tons of other similar characters sucks

The only caveat is alternate dimension/ timelines, that’s when you can go crazy with alternate versions. But to have too many of the same powered characters in the same universe is weak

Totally Crap Hulk, I can't see the appeal of this character when you have The Incredible Hulk.
