Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.'s Amazing Spider-Man run has been spectacular thus far, and ahead of next week's issue #900, Marvel Comics has dropped its October solicitations.
Among them are details about Amazing Spider-Man #11 (#905) and Amazing Spider-Man #12 (#906). As you can see, the Hobgoblin is finally making his return, and it appears the Goblin Queen will be responsible (that certainly looks like her arm, anyway). Given her ability to brainwash people, we can't help but wonder if this Hobgoblin will be one of her sinister creations!
"The timing of this goblin's return with Peter working at Oscorp must be a coincidence, right?" reads the preview for issue #11. "But who is donning the yellow cowl? Roderick Kingsley? Ned Leeds? Flash Thompson? If you know anything about Hobgoblin, you know that you know nothing about Hobgoblin."
As for issue #12, it teases, "Glider vs. Glider, Bomb vs. Bomb, Goblin vs. Spider?! Spidey's new costume is going to be tested in a horrifying crucible. If you thought the Tombstone and Vulture fights were rough, you ain't see nothing yet!"
We're hoping that it's Kingsley beneath the mask, though you never know. Ben Reilly is also targeting Peter Parker from the shadows after losing his core memories, so the web-slinger is being targeted on all fronts...we also still don't know what Spider-Man did that resulted in all his friends turning their back on him!
Hopefully, we'll have more details about the Hobgoblin's return to share with you soon. The villain remains a fan-favourite choice to appear in the next Spider-Man movie, but that project still hasn't been officially announced by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.
