The incredible response to Jason Latour and Robbi Rodriguez's Edge of Spider-Verse #2, which depicted a world where Gwen Stacy became Spider-Woman, has lead to the development of an ongoing series for the character. In a new interview with CBR, Latour admits that the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the new Web-Slinger is "honestly very surreal. Readers literally made this book happen. It's kind of unprecedented in a lot of ways. It's not lost on any of us how special that is." The book will be titled Spider-Gwen, after the nickname caught on across the internet, and Latour explains that readers can easily jump in when the first issue rolls around in February. "Everything you need to know about this book is in the title," he says. "It's Spider-powers and it's Gwen Stacy. It's both aspects, fun big melodramatic super heroics and coming of age drama, plus whatever other insane sleep deprived stuff we come up with." Below is Kris Anka's variant for Spider-Gwen #1. Are you looking forward to the series?
