Nothing stands in the way of Doctor Doom. No hero. No villain. Not even the limits of space and time! But all things must come to an end, and this May, the incredible creative team of Jonathan Hickman (Ultimate Spider-Man) and Sanford Greene (Bitter Root) send Victor Von Doom on his final journey in the pages of Doom #1.

This breathtaking one-shot from two of the industry's most mind-bending talents will showcase a universe-shattering battle between Doom and Galactus. A timeless testament to Doom's unmatched hubris, determination, and self-preservation, Doom #1 will encapsulate everything that makes Victor one of pop culture's greatest villains in a standalone saga Marvel Comics says is "perfect" for every type of fan.

In the comic, we'll witness Doom team up with one of the only people he respects - Valeria Richards, the daughter of Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman - to save all that is and to try to attain a cosmic status that he’s only ever dreamed of.

Here's the solicitation text for Doom #1:

In the near future...Doom alone must save the Marvel Universe! Witness Doctor Doom on a journey unlike any he has undertaken before! With Valeria Richards at his side, Doom goes on a quest to harness more power than any human has ever wielded before in order to try to stop Galactus from bringing about the death of the universe!

Talking about the one-shot, Hickman says, "Sanford and I have been waiting to work together for quite a while, so when he told me that he’d come up with an amazing Doom story and he wanted me to help out, I jumped at the chance. It’s a giant-sized story about a giant-sized character and I can’t tell you how excited I am to get to write Doom again."

Greene adds, "Growing up reading Marvel comics, I became fascinated by Doctor Doom and how he potentially is the centre of the entire Marvel Universe! He is one of my bucket list characters and this story is somewhat a love letter to Doom and Marvel."

"Jonathan is a longtime friend and he always amazes me with his vast knowledge of all types of things, especially the Marvel universe," the artist continues. "I couldn't think of anyone better to collaborate with."

I am hyped AF, that is a great cover. Some Secret Wars 2015 in there, some Secret Wars 1984, some triumph and torment. Love it.

I'm guessing that Galactus is Franklin Richards, since this is the end of time and Valeria's with him.

Hyped!

@ObserverIO - although I'm not a fan of Franklin being Galactus, I could see it work.

As for the where it builds off of, I am hyped too. Really hoping both will be adapted in Avengers 5/6, with this also serving as a testing ground for Doom.

I really think Doom works better as the wannabe, the pretender, than this godlike being his fans write him as.

Doom will only work on the big screen if he’s portrayed as a cold and ruthless killer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants, more like the Red Skull, Thanos or even Fisk were done rather than Hela for example.

Safe bet is on Doom IMO. Galactus (regardless of it being the 616 Universe or the multiverse in general) is consistently getting jacked-up by one foe or another. Pretty deplorable overall win/loss record for the original cosmic-heavyweight of Marvel comics. 🫤

Would have loved John Byrne finished his last Galactus story.

Doctor Doom is Marvels best villain, don't f*ck him up in The Fantastic Four reboot.
