Following the launch of blockbuster titles like Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate Black Panther, and Ultimate X-Men, Ultimates will finally be relaunched in an all-new ongoing series this June.

Spinning out of the events of Jonathan Hickman and Stefano Caselli's Ultimate Universe #1, the new Ultimates series will be written by Deniz Camp, known for his thought-provoking and socially relevant work on titles like Children of the Vault and 20th Century Men. Rising star, Juan Frigeri (known for his acclaimed work on Invincible Iron Man) will provide artwork.

The series looks set to introduce the all-new superhero team that will usher in the next chapter of bold storytelling within the new Ultimate Universe.

Months ago, Tony Stark sent Peter Parker a radioactive spider to set him back on the course to become Spider-Man. Since then, Iron Lad (Stark), Captain America, Doom, Thor, and Sif have begun to do the same for other lost heroes, building a network of super-powered heroes hungry for change. Now they must band together to destroy the Maker's Council and restore freedom and free will to a world ruled from the shadows.

As you can see below, it looks like a new Giant-Man and The Wasp will also take centre stage in the series.

"The new Ultimates line is the most exciting super hero comics event in years, and it’s humbling to be a part of it!" Camp declared. "We are reinventing these classic characters and archetypes to be as surprising and vital as when they were first introduced."

"Our Ultimates is an evolution not just of the Avengers, but of the whole superhero team concept; from the grand and operatic to the small and personal, The Ultimates will feel like no Avengers or Ultimates comic ever before! That's our ambition, anyway; tune in to find out if we succeed."

He'd add, "On a personal note, my first big break in comics was winning the Millarworld talent competition, so there is a strange, sweet symmetry to taking on the title Mark [Millar] and Bryan [Hitch] pioneered 20+ years ago. We're doing everything we can to live up to the ‘Ultimates’ name, and the high bar set by Jonathan, Marco [Checchetto], and all the Ultimate creative teams so far."

The avengers had plenty of small personal stories. He doesn't know what he's talking about.

@Origame - i think he is saying that he will be changing the way small personal stories are told in a team book.

@supermanrex - well then there's no context for how this team is different from what we've had before.

@Origame - Maybe that context is in the comic

@Origame - but in reality they always say the new team is different and things still function about the same

Thor looking mean. Giantman reminding me of a certain giant size character on a show I used to watch as a kid. Can't quite recall the name. Was in 80s or 90s

Dude had a big horn on his head and would punch monsters in the face

Marvel Ultimate's line was the beginning of culture change in that universe and trying to be hard too hard.

@Matador - Reading the older books now is a breath of fresh air compared to how they're written these days.

The original Ultimate line was a simplification of 70 years of comic continuity. I personally don't understand what Johnathan Hickman writes. He's like Grant Morrison

@0bstreperous - hickman goes for big long term complicated stuff. morrison is just straight up short term but trippy as [frick]. i have to reread a lot in morrisons books. he goes way out there more than hickman when trying to convey shit. you need a readers guide for hickman vs morrison where you just need to be high on something.

@supermanrex - The readers guide for Morrison's stuff is the Akashic Records, lol.

They already screwed things up with how they launched the new Ultimate Universe.

Pass.
