AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #8 Features Another Major Status Quo Change For Peter Parker - SPOILERS

Amazing Spider-Man #8 arrived in comic book stores today, and Marvel has again made a major status quo change to Peter Parker's life. Find out what happened following his battle with The Vulture here...

Today's issue of Amazing Spider-Man picks up with the web-slinger's battle with The Vulture. While Peter Parker was able to avoid going splat after being dropped out of the sky by Adrian Toomes, the villain still manages to get the best of his foe, and things are left looking far from amazing for the hero.

Calling Norman Osborn (whose "sins" were removed by Sin-Eater, leaving the former Green Goblin redeemed), Peter pleads with his former nemesis to bring him the suit they created during that mysterious period that's resulted in everyone hating Spidey. He refuses, but Spider-Man tricks The Vulture into flying him to Oscorp where he suits up and puts the pensioner down.

Later confronting Norman, Peter learns that he refused to help him because he's terrified that stepping on a glider again will lead him down that dark path. Yes, his sins have been cleansed, but Norman has no idea what that means and believes there's a chance he could become the Green Goblin again.

Spidey buys what Norman is selling and accepts his job offer from last issue. With that, he now has a new suit and is working for Oscorp, something none of us ever expected to see!

We can't help but think this will end with one final battle between Spider-Man and the Goblin, but Norman does appear to be a good guy now and Spidey could use a win. Eight issues in and there's still no word on what happened during the time jump that led to Mary Jane Watson leaving Peter, but writer Zeb Wells continues to drop clues here and there.

The next two issues will tie into the X-Men's Hellfire Gala and A.X.E.: Judgement Day, so we don't anticipate answers for a while yet.

What did you guys think about today's Amazing Spider-Man #8?

Why Norman putting his other hand on top of the handshake like that? Very awkward thing to do.

I'm liking this new Spidey series so far. It's been so long since I've read a Spider-Man comic and actually kept up with it.

''whose "sins" were removed by Sin-Eater, leaving the former Green Goblin redeemed''

I haven't been up to date with the comics, so I have not idea what to make of this. How exactly does that work?

@NoobNoob - okay yeah, now I have even less of an idea of what's going on.

Sounds like I actually need to read the comic to understand the context.
