Marvel Comics has announced that Captain America and Iron Man will star in their own team-up comic book series this November. Written by Derek Landy (Falcon & Winter Soldier) with art by Ángel Unzueta (Star Wars), Captain America/Iron Man promises to explore the pair's fascinating dynamic and history on an adventure that will see them go up against a mysterious new threat from Hydra.

In the series, a government agent turned Hydra provocateur stages a daring breakout on her way to prison, attracting the attention of both Iron Man and Captain America. When Steve and Tony realize they both have a connection to the slippery fugitive, they team up to track her down, only to discover she’s not the only player on the board with big plans and sinister motives.

"Ever since the pandemic hit, I've been making my way through the old Marvel omnibuses, reading all the stories from the 60s that I'd only heard about/absorbed through osmosis - with Steve Rogers and Tony Stark being uppermost on the reading pile," Landy says. "Little did I know that this was actually a prolonged bout of diligent and thorough research for which I should be roundly admired - nay laude. The opportunity to write these characters is as daunting as it is thrilling."

"For me, it's a dream come true to draw Iron Man and Captain America. They are my two favorite characters in the Marvel Universe (in and out of costume)," Unzueta adds. "There is a lot of things to say about the relationship of these two Marvel heroes and Derek shows in this miniseries his deep understanding of their dynamic and services it into a great and relevant story: An instant classic!"

Captain America/Iron Man #1 will arrive in comic book stores on November 24, and you can check out Alex Ross' incredible cover for the first issue below:

Have to say that even this sounds like it came from a 60s comic book. Stan Lee vibes from that quote.

Hopefully this is a return to form for the comics. Been going down hill for a LOOOOONG while now.

@Origame - Feel the same way man. Outside of Jonathon Hickmans X-MEN books, comics have been going downhill the past few years. No wonder Manga is killing them in sales the past few years due to them actually putting out good stories and characters instead of the "woke" junk Marvel has been putting out.

@Origame - You can still find some good titles still at Marvel but I agree most of them have gone downhill.

I miss the 70s and 80s Marvel.

@Cyclonus - yeah. I really don't get the obsession with it. It's like they're proudly committing corporate suicide.
