COMICS: Marvel's Two-In-One Will March Towards Reuniting The FANTASTIC FOUR

Marvel Legacy is a reboot of sorts for the comic universe but Reed, Sue, Franklin and Val Richards are still missing following their roles in the reality-collapsing Secret Wars (2015) crossover.

Marvel is launching a new Two-In-One comic book as part of Marvel Legacy and one half of the title will be devoted to The Thing and The Human Torch going on a quest to find their missing family.

Speaking to Newsarama, series writer Chip Zdarsky teased, "It’s Ben and Johnny diving headfirst into the mystery of what happened to [Reed and Sue].  The world presumes that Reed, Sue, and the kids are dead, but Johnny especially can’t accept that fact. So we’re heading on a road trip to find out what happened."

And it seems the Secret Wars (2015) villain Victor Von Doom has all the answers.  Zdarsky continued, "[U]nbeknownst to Ben and Johnny, [Doctor] Doom holds the key to finding the missing heroes.  Writing Doom is insanely fun, and my favorite Marvel book right now is Infamous Iron Man, so it’s great to be able to play with what Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev have been doing with the character."

Of course, the question the series will have to explore is whether Ben and Johnny and find their missing family members and if they do, will Reed and Sue decide to return or are they still busy reshaping reality?

@EnnisFan - So why make one now that is led by Human Torch and the Thing?

Unless they have the rights back and want to start preparing us for the inevitable F4 film under the MCU umbrella...

@L0RDbuckethead - Human Torch and the Thing have still been featured in the marvel universe

@EnnisFan - Oh ok, I see. I don't read any current comic runs so I didn't realize that they were still featured.

I thought when Marvel announced (awhile back) the discontinuing of F4 comics, that included all 4 of the main characters, as well.

Who wants Marvel to get the rights back. I would much rather see a film that focuses on the Richards' kids. smh Please get the rights back.

@SlowKnife - I would love to see Fishburne take on the role of the MCU Silver Surfer. He's about the only redeeming quality of those two movies.

good to see marvel is better than petty fox

beautiful news!
Origame
Origame - 9/13/2017, 3:17 PM
@knocturnalzen10 - How? They took the comic down, preventing fans from getting anything Fantastic Four related outside of the Fox movies they know we hate, all because Fox wouldn't give something for nothing. That was petty.

@Origame - did you see the ff films ? -_-
StormXmen123
StormXmen123 - 9/13/2017, 3:34 PM
@knocturnalzen10 - films quality/success have no effect on comics sales: comics readers make a small percentage of those who go to see the film and very little non-comic reader go on to read the comics.

Fox has no control over what happens in the comics. That is completely under Marvels control. They chose to cancel the comics (slapping the fans in the face).

@StormXmen123 - ok ............. sigh deep breathe.... marvel produce an event called secret wars which circled around the 4. which is very recent involving them on a big send off...... mind you that's this yr. i don't agree with ever tactic marvel deploys but to cover over the rubbish they call fox with a cloud for big g or other horrid design concepts made for those is you guys reaching. no marvel didn't do the best with ff story per comics stand point, but those movies supersede your vantage point of marvels faults :) .

@Origame - "Something for Nothing" like free advertisement for a failed movie series or more material for future movie storylines?

If anything, Fox has damaged the Fantastic Four brand which has a much larger affect on Marvel Comics as a whole.
StormXmen123
StormXmen123 - 9/13/2017, 4:06 PM
@knocturnalzen10 - what are you talking about?
I made clear that the films and comics have no effect on each other. Thus the recent F4 films failures are due to the choices they made in the films.
On the other hand, the reason the F4 comics were cancelled were because Marvel chose make that decision. Fox has no control over it.
knocturnalzen10
knocturnalzen10 - 9/13/2017, 4:13 PM
@StormXmen123 - no they didn't but the films have a great deal of the desire for some of the readers and you should be aware of that. i.e me stating i don't completely agree with marvel actions of earlier cancellation of the comic. but as i stated what do you do when you're watching your product used in a high mismanaging manner ......... if you think films didn't effect marvels choices or less readers on ff comics then i don't know what else to tell you
knocturnalzen10
knocturnalzen10 - 9/13/2017, 4:16 PM
@StormXmen123 - fyi i also clearly stated the last major marvel event circled around the FF. so i'm unsure why you're confused on what i'm talking about.
