Matt Ryan has become a fan favorite in the Arrowverse, becoming somewhat synonymous with John Constantine, everyone's favorite demonologist and petty dabler of the dark arts. Initially appearing on his own show on NBC before being unceremoniously axed, Ryan's Constantine was folded into the Arrowverse when he appeared on an episode of Arrow in its fourth season. It was not until the current season of Legends of Tomorrow that Constantine reappeared for two appearances so far, with a future appearance in the finale and a spot on the Waverider in season 4 confirmed.

However, before Ryan's Constantine returns for the season finale of Legends of Tomorrow, fans will be able to enjoy the character back on his own show, Constantine: City of Demons. This show is an animated series that will debut on the CW Seed, which is also the home o Vixen and Freedom Fighters: The Ray. The first five episodes of the new series will debut on Saturday, March 24th. The title of the series, City of Demons, pays homage to the 5-issue Hellblazer miniseries of the same name, though according to Matt Ryan the series will be loosely based on the Hellblazer graphic novel "All His Engines."

While details are scarce on the first season of the show, it seems that the plot will at least partially revolve around helping his friend Chas, whose daughter is in a coma and it seems dark magic is to blame. According to Ryan, this show will show a darker side of the character that has not yet been explored on Constantine or Legends of Tomorrow. Check out a behind-the-scenes first look
for the show, below, followed by a clip from the season and a new poster. Are you excited to see Matt Ryan's Constantine back on his own show, even if it is animated? Be sure to let us know your thoughts in the usual spot!

CITY OF DEMONS: Armed with an arcane knowledge of the dark arts and a wicked wit, he fights the good fight. With his soul already damned to hell, he'll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line‎, Constantine uses his skills to face the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows… maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all."
