New CONSTANTINE TV Spot & Stills Give Us Our First Look At Angélica Celaya's Zed

Shortly after shooting the pilot for NBC's Constantine, Lucy Griffiths, who played Liv, exited the series. Instead of recasting the role, NBC decided to introduce the fan favorite character of Zed. Shortly thereafter, the lovely Angélica Celaya was cast in the role.

While, she's understandably been left out of the early promos, E! Online has just released a brand new promotional image and TV spot, the latter of which you can view below, where we get our first look at Celaya in character and a few details about the new character. DC Entertainment has also released four new stills, which you can check out following the video.

Executive Producer Daniel Cerone describes the character of Zed as "someone who can go toe-to-toe with John, and that's ultimately something we felt like we needed, we wanted a more dynamic relationship, as opposed to someone who is a teacher/mentor and a student. It just didn't feel as fertile and rich of an area as just a strong a man and a strong woman who are both very different."

Angélica Celaya is slated to make her first appearance as Zed in a teaser at the end of the pilot episode and then will appear as a regular the following week. Check out four more images of Celaya below!

Here's an old KSiteTV interview with Celaya, where she talks a bit about her interpretation of the character and whether or not she'll get Zed's famous white streaks:

Based on the wildly popular comic book series "Hellblazer" from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine specializes in giving hell... hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, he fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he's decided to leave his do-gooder life behind. But when demons target Liv, the daughter of one of Constantine's oldest friends, he's reluctantly thrust back into the fray - and he'll do whatever it takes to save her. Before long, it's revealed that Liv's "second sight," an ability to see the worlds behind our world and predict supernatural occurrences, is a threat to a mysterious new evil that's rising in the shadows. And now it's not just Liv who needs protection; the angels are starting to get worried too. So, together, Constantine and Liv must use her power and his skills to travel the country, find the demons that threaten our world - and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows... maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all.

Constantine features:
Matt Ryan as John Constantine

Charles Halford as Chas Chandler
Angélica Celaya as Zed Martin
Lucy Griffiths as Liv Aberdeen
Joey Phillips as Nergal
Miles Anderson as Dr. Roger Huntoon

I think it would be amazing if they made Liv the female Doctor Fate and it would work perfectly within the story having John come back from the bar only to find Liv and the helmet gone.

@Devlin712 I saw your comment earlier before you deleted and now that I can comment you delete it but still gonna scold you for thinking Zed & Zee (Zatanna) are even in anyway shape or form the same or somehow connected.
