Adam Berg Attached To Deadpool

Adam Berg Attached To Deadpool

If you haven't heard the name it's that he has yet to make a feature film! Apparently the Swedish music video director is now in the running to helm Deadpool for Fox studios..

According to the LA Times' 24 Frames, the powers behind the solo Deadpool movie, as well as Ryan Reynolds(who will hopefully play The title character) are very impressed with Berg's short film Carousel as well as his other video/commercial work and he is being considered to helm the project.

If Berg is to get the gig, it seems like a big risk for Fox given that the script is so difficult to translate to screen. Going the unknown, inexperienced route is quite a gamble. Robert Rodriguez was previously attached to direct, but had to turn it down because of scheduling conflicts. All we know about the film aside from that is Ryan Reynolds will PROBABLY play the Merc With A Mouth, and that the script(providing it doesn't get butchered) is a thing of beauty.

Here is Berg's short film Carousel

First! I remember how puckered up eveyone was about Zack Snyder doing Watchmen and Kick-Ass. Sometimes you've just got to give a young man a chance. Remember, Steven Spielberg made Sugarland Express once upon a time.

Wow FOX just epitomizes all thats wrong with corporate America

Ok we have another super hero movie....

Would u like to get a a really shitty script and another crappy Joe Schmoe director to go with it?

Or would u rather buy a great script and get a Director with a proven track record to bring this hero to life.

Lets just save money as long as we break even we will be ok.

From Looking at his commercial/short film I would say YES this guy could do parts of the Deadpool movie justice based on the script, but I guess the rest will be on a wait and see basis. I just hope Ryan Reynolds does it and if this guy is gonna be sitting in the all important Directors chair, he can show some skills and get that amazing script on screen!!!

Good to know things are still moving forward slowly but surely with this.

Hard to tell whether or not he's the right guy for the job based off just that short movie alone but I'd be more than happy to give him a chance. After all, as I'm sure X-Men: First Class will prove, you can hire a great director but Fox will still end up making shitty CBM's. :D

Not interested in whatever CBM Fox make.
Hope Reynolds rejects this one, or have some kind of scheduling conflict.

LoL, ya gotta love FOX H8, an I don't blame them, anyways... IF FOX has brains they'll leave REYNOLDS alone to make lots of cool GL movies and get a talented unknown,,, with proper messed up DEADPOOL face and real story ignorining origins, thats the only way to make good DEADPOOL movie... we don't need REYNOLDS smilely face all throught it!

Lee, do you actually live in your own world? Or do you purposefully block out any and all information that somehow goes against your ridiculous crusade against Fox. The script HAS the messed up face, proper origin, mask, suit, the whole shebang.

i would not judge this guy remember Neill Blomkamp first full length movie was District 9 and that was a success.

u can see why they choose him to direct cause of "Carousel" short film. even 50 Cent also did a music video of this same short lol

@Metallklumpen

Zack Snyder never done Kick-Ass thats Matthew Vaughn. Zack Snyder first movie was Dawn of the Dead, then 300 and Watchmen.

I See why they would consider him cause deadpool starts of in slow motion with a crazy ass highway scene with so much carnage and then deadpool pops up & the movie starts it could work out the short film was cool i say go for it

That is exactly how I imagined the 4th Wall Scenes in my head when I read the script. I think this has a lot of potential.

From what Reynolds said and the script reviews I've seen it looks like it could be really good and stay true to the Deadpool comics. BUT let's not forget FOX is in charge and they will probably try to make it more appealing to the masses and butcher it. They were the people responsible for X-Men 3, Borigins and X-Men First Ass, so I'll hope for the best and expect the worst.

Since I own the script myself I can get behind this especially since the short film fits the intro scene from the script. I just hope no script revisions butcher it.

The Deadpool script has become impossible to find - it's either pulled or missing from every link I've found. I just want to read it! Can anyone share it with me?

bottom line Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool. he's passionate about it and he did a great job in Wolverine XMO for what its worth u know before the gay Barakapool thing. anyways I don't care who the director is as long as they stick to the supposed great Deadpool script.
