DEADPOOL 3: Morena Baccarin Comments On The Possibility Of Returning As Vanessa In Upcoming Threequel

Deadpool and Deadpool 2 star Morena Baccarin played Vanessa Carlysle, a.k.a. Copycat, in those movies, but will she return as the character in Marvel Studios' Deadpool 3? Find out what she has to say here!

One of Deadpool 2's most shocking moments came when Morena Baccarin's Vanessa Carlysle died. That loss hit Wade Wilson hard, though he'd later use Cable's time-travel device to save the woman he loves (effectively undoing her death and ensuring she's now alive again in his reality).

We still don't know how the Merc with the Mouth will be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, of course, though it would probably be easy enough thanks to the Multiverse and Deadpool's recent tampering with time travel!

Whether any supporting characters from the Fox franchise are coming with him to the MCU remains to be seen. However, during a recent appearance at DragonCon Atlanta, Baccarin remained tight-lipped when it came to her possibly starring in Deadpool 3

"You know, from your lips to God's ears, I have no idea," she claimed. "They're writing the script right now. I'm usually the last to find out anything. I'm not even...I wish I had information I could give you but I really don't. But it'd be great."

Baccarin would go on to confirm that Vanessa was supposed to stay dead in Deadpool 2 before test screening reactions helped alter her fate. "I think when we shot the second film, I would just die. And then after they screened it a few times they actually changed it to include this timeline thing so I think that's a good sign that the fans want to see her again."

"Whether or not it happens, it's not up to me," the actress concluded.

Marvel Studios may be looking to make a fresh start with Deadpool, so there's a good chance we won't see any other characters from the previous two movies. That would be a waste in some ways as there are more stories to tell with the likes of Cable, Dominio, and even Vanessa.

Deadpool 3 doesn't currently have a release date, though we are hoping for news at D23 this month!

I hope they bring back as much of the supporting cast as possible. We could do without Firefist, but even then, I wouldn't mind him either.

Definitely want Colossus, Cable, Domino and Negasonic Teenage Warhead back. I would assume they would want Yukio and Dopinder, as these character check some very important boxes for Disney, and while the "Hi Yukio" gag got a little old, they can obviously find something more to do with her, and Dopinder was very well received in both movies.

I understand that TJ Miller won't be back as Weasel (can't remember what happened, it's hard to keep up with Hollywood scandals sometimes), but if they were just going to have him talk about how Deadpool looks gross, i'm fine without.

I used to be OVER THE MOON with the idea of Deadpool coming in the MCU, but seeing how the MCU has been handled in Phase 4, i'm only cautiously optimistic. Same with Daredevil.

@OrgasmicPotatoe - wouldn't mind it either if they bring back Colossus, Cable, Domino, NTW and Yukio. Could even call the team X-Force if they want.

I still look forward to Deadpool in the MCU though, especially how they're gonna handle Deadpool being in a different universe now.

It's interesting how time travel rules work differently in the mainline MCU timeline than the Fox films.

In Deadpool 2, Cable and Deadpool both use time travel as a way to bring a loved one back to life. But that isn't how time travel works in the MCU. In the MCU, doing that would just create a branching timeline where their loved ones never died. It wouldn't bring their loved ones back in their original timeline.

@CorndogBurglar - Fox also did this in Days of Future Past by sending Wolverine's consciousness to his past body in an effort to save the Senator from being killed, which then changes the Days of Future Past timeline.

@CorndogBurglar -

It's a long shot, but if they nailed it, my respect would go through the roof.
Cameo Hugh Jackman coming to the end scene of DOFP, returning to what we thought would be a conversation with Patrick Stewart.

Upon entering the door we see the multiverse effect flow across the room, and the camera pans to our new Charles Xavier, then pans back to our new Wolverine. 💲

I can just see Thor overhearing Cable with his back turned to him. “What! I killed Thanos!” Cable better move quick if he likes his head above his shoulders.

Have her head in a fridge to represent how wasted she was being fridged in Deadpool 2 and Ryan Reynolds' movie The Voices.

I don't think Disney would make the most out of her potential contributions.
