Ryan Reynolds Says He Thinks DEADPOOL Is In "His Own Universe," Rather Than The "Days of Future Past" Timeline

Was the Merc with a Mouth affected by the new X-Men: Days of Future Past timeline created by Wolverine? According to Ryan Reynolds in this interview, no way! Hit the jump to check it out!

Deadpool is set to hit theaters in three days! However, the critics have already seen the film and are labeling it as "F***ing Awesome", "Bloody Hilarious", and a "Game-Changer"! This comes as great news, considering the fact that the same character made his debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and the fans didn't gravitate to him as they do now. Why? Solely because how he was portrayed (a test subject with no dialogue, laser vision, etc.).

With that said, many wonder if the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past changed the history of Wade Wilson, making him how we see him today, and in the upcoming film. While that would be the reasonable explanation, Ryan Reynolds in a recent interview with Filmstart, revealed what he thinks about the X-Men: Days of Future Past timeline, and how it affects Deadpool. "I really don't think this has anything to do with Days of Future Past or its timeline. If it were Deadpool, he could tell Days of Future Past to take its timeline and go f--k itself. We make fun of the timelines in the movie. But no, Deadpool is not effected by that at all. Deadpool I think is just his own thing, his own universe. Anytime that the X-Men sort of interact with Deadpool in his universe they do so at their own risk and peril."

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool is set to be released on February 12th, 2016. What do you think? Share your thoughts in the comment section below!

I think every X-Men movie is it's own universe and only connects to others when its convenient.

First Singer says Deadpool and Gambit connects with his movies and the timeline

Now Ryan Reynolds saying Deadpool is it's own universe and it actually makes fun of the screwed up timeline in the xmen films.

I don't get what's so hard for people to understand that only First Class, DOFP, Apocalypse, and Deadpool are now canon... just ignore 1-Origins and The Wolverine in the continuity you daft idiots.

Fox doesn't give a crap about making a coherent, connected universe.

But I thought they would at least try post-DOFP.

Guess not.

The more interesting interview Reynolds did was with Collider where he said X-Force is a priority for him.

-X-Men: First Class (1960's)
-X-Men Origins: Wolverine (1980's)
-X-Men (2000)
-X2: X-Men United (2003)
-X-Men: The Last Stand (2006)
-The Wolverine (2013)

-X-Men: Days of Future Past (1973/2023) *timeline reset*

-X-Men: Apocalypse (1983)
-Deadpool (2016)
-Gambit (2017)
-Wolverine 3 (TBA)
-X-Force (TBA)
-New Mutants (TBA)

If you ask me personally, I'll take the new timeline any given day of the week. lol

The only thing that's COMPLETELY idiotic is how Kinberg suggests that some mutants could've been born earlier? Yet if Angel was born in 1973 then he should only be 10 years old?! They should just say that they basically rebooted after DoFP because trying to make sense of the mistakes they previously made will only make more things confusing. They aren't keeping track of one another's films within their studio. It just looks like every man for himself and whatever works best is what goes.
