CRUELLA Poster Reveals Emma Stone's Take On The 101 DALMATIANS Villain ; Trailer Coming Tomorrow

Disney just dropped the first teaser poster for Cruella, the live-action 101 Dalmatians spinoff which sees Emma Stone (The Amazing Spider-Man) play Cruella de Vil. Check it out after the jump...

This came completely out of the blue, but ahead of its planned May 2021 release on Disney+ (that's where it's thought to be going, anyway), the first poster for Cruella starring Emma Stone has been released.

As you can see, The Amazing Spider-Man star is put front and centre, and we're getting a real Scarface vibe from this one. With only a few months to go until Cruella is released, Disney has definitely taken its time promoting this one, so here's hoping that's not a bad sign of what's to come from the movie.

Not much has been revealed about Craig Gillespie's 101 Dalmatians spinoff, but last July, a lengthy description of the movie's premise was shared online which shed more light on where we find Emma Stone's Cruelle de Vil when this story begins (and what leads her down a dark path).

"Teenaged Estella has a dream. She wishes to become a fashion designer, having been gifted with talent, innovation, and ambition all in equal measures," it reads. "But life seems intent on making sure her dreams never come true. Having wound up penniless and orphaned in London at twelve, four years later Estella runs wild through the city streets with her best friends and partners-in-(petty)-crime, Horace and Jasper, two amateur thieves."

"When a chance encounter vaults Estella into the world of the young rich and famous, however, she begins to question the existence she’s built for herself in London and wonders whether she might, indeed, be destined for more after all. When an up-and-coming rockstar commissions Estella to design him a signature piece, she begins to feel as though she has truly arrived."

"But what is the cost of keeping up with the fast crowd– and is it a price Estella is willing to pay?" it concludes, dropping some big hints about Cruella's descent into madness and villainy.

How Cruella will ultimately tie into 101 Dalmations remains to be seen as, based on Disney's previous live-action remakes, it could be a prequel, retelling, or something in between. Whatever the case may be, it sounds like a fun time, and the first trailer for the movie should give us an idea of what to expect.

For now, take a look at Cruella's teaser poster below:

So she's suppose to be the younger Cruella but still looking like the old Cruella? with white hair and funny make up.

@MaxPaint -
I mean, the look should have started somewhere. She could've adopted this look that she carries into her older age

No matter what way they splice it, I'm not going to feel sympathy for some who wants to skin and wear the coat of 101 dogs.

I don't see myself enjoying this movie much, Cruella never clicked with me (for good reason).
Totally understand why Maleficent worked though, so I can see this being a hit as well.

My favourite villains were always Ursula and Jaffar. Hope these two get solo movies, not with the new Jaffar version though. Get Over Fehr and we're game

So Cruella was a model who posed for Glamour magazine in her youth?

Looking forward to the live action origin movies for Scar when he was just a cute little cub and Ursula when she was a size 14.

Emma Stone is pretty talented so I'm hoping this one turns out good.

Just have her be bad unlike what they did with Maleficent, I'm not interested in sympathizing with Cruella DeVille, her name alone suggest you shouldn't be rooting for her!

The dude always talks in multiples: “We’re getting Scarface vibes...” like he’s Gollum. I’ll never get that.

Also this doesn’t really look like Scarface. Any of these attempts to make the villain sympathetic is a weird trend. Maleficent changed the whole story, and was cheesy as they come.

...Villains used to be epic and evil. Now they want to blur the line between good and bad.

I certainly don't want to see animals being abused or neglected, but throw some Dalmatians in there or what's the point?

I'm willing to give it a chance because of Tony McNamara writing the script alongside Gillespie directing after his work on I, Tonya.

But it's Disney, so who knows, maybe it'll be five other writers credited to make an inferior product alongside Million Dollar Arm and Finest Hours Gillespie directing instead?
