While some have been on the fence regarding another Toy Story sequel, debating if it was neccessary in the first place, others have been anticipating the return of Woody & Buzz for a while now. In two weeks, fans will finally have a chance to revisit Pixar's most iconic franchise.

Earlier this week, Disney held press screenings for Toy Story 4. Very confident in the film and what it has to offer, Disney lifted the embargo relatively early compared to most movies. Check out the reactions to the tearjerking installment below:

Toy Story 4 comes to theaters on June 21.

I admit i was a bit worried by the trailers. It seemed sillier than the others, something about it didn't feel like Toy Story to me.

But these reactions make me feel a lot better. I'm excited to see it now. Toy Story is the king of modern animation.

@TheManWithoutFear - Iono Incredibles 2 and Finding Dory were just cash grab sequels. I feel that nostalgia is clouding their judgements as their sequels are just average at best except for Toy Story 2.

@mastakilla39 - Most critics did point out Finding Dory and Incredibles 2 were inferior though.

@mastakilla39 - idk about Finding Dory, but whether or not Incredibles 2 was a cash grab doesn't matter. While it's not as good as the first, it was still a great movie.

@WakandanQueen - Just dump it on WarnerMedia Streaming.
If this DOA film gets the big December 2020 WB date, and not Dune, Suicide Squad 2 (which will be ready in time) or even Black Adam if it's done on time (Jumanji 3 started filming in January for a December date), then WB would be fools.

Like, Dune is gonna bomb but at least it's gonna be an artistic achievement and most likely be the best big budget film of 2020. GvK is probably gonna be bad and bomb.

@tmp3 - WB has an event film for August 7 next year. Maybe they will dump Godzilla vs Kong there.

tmp3 - 6/8/2019, 12:13 PM
@WakandanQueen - Yeah, seems like a lame duck movie. Their 2020 lineup is solid otherwise though - Wonder Woman should make a lot of money, and Tenet/Dune are probably my two most anticipated films for that year

@WakandanQueen - How tf is Kong gonna fight Godzilla anyway? Kong is like 1/3 the size.
WakandanQueen
WakandanQueen - 6/8/2019, 12:19 PM
@tmp3 - I hope things work out better for them than they have -so far- done this year (although IT Chapter 2 and Joker are probably going to get them back on their feet).

@WakandanQueen - The issue was they over-marketed films with little appeal like Pikachu and under-marketed something that could have done great like Shazam! They also made a Godzilla film for no-one, so GvK could do Dark Phoenix numbers next year too. Skipping SDCC was a smart move, since releasing trailers that early is a dumb move, and makes the films cannibalise each other.
Joker is gonna open huge, we'll see how legs go. It 2 should be huge though, like $140m opening weekend wouldn't shock me. Hope Bill Hader gets more high profile gigs after that; loved him in Barry.
Also, WB could win 2020. WW84 is probably winning 2017 domestically, maybe even worldwide if Fast 9 underperforms without the Rock, or Bond 25 doesn't do as well as it could. Tenet should do a cool $700m, and Birds of Prey will do great too. Hope Dune does well. GvK will bomb.

I may be the only person on Earth (jk) who hasn’t seen Toy Story 3 (yet). But I am interested in this.

This movie is going to make all the money, but I'm glad Disney/Pixar have come out and said that they're focusing less on sequels and more on new, original story ideas.

Kind of relevant:

Bit of a spoiler in that last one. Conclusion to Buzz and Woody's story.

Wonder what that will be.

@Nightwing1015 - obviously going to say goodbye to each other in some way. Funny because I never thought they could get me again after they had Andy say goodbye but there it is...

@GoldGuy - Aladdin got mixed reviews though.

@tmp3 - Sure, but many people were expecting (hoping for?) a trainwreck, so the film being "fine" was still an improvement.

Good news for those looking forward to the movie. I guess I'll watch it at some point, but so far it's been of so little interest to me that I haven't even watched a trailer.

Imagine doubting Pixar with their flagship franchise Toy Story

While I do believe the movie will be good ... I'm starting not to trust these first reactions for the movies. They've been wishy-washy considering the actual quality of the film. Whether good or bad.

I want to believe it (they're my favorite animated movies after all), but Incredibles 2 got positive reactions too and that was a huge letdown.
