DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS TV Spot Sees The Scarlet Witch Take Aim At [SPOILER]

There's still no sign of the Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, but Marvel Studios has just released a new TV spot for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featuring a lot of intriguing footage...

By JoshWilding - Apr 13, 2022 10:04 AM EST

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is fast approaching, and Marvel Studios has now released another sneak peek for their first sequel since Avengers: Endgame was released in 2019.

There are lots of new snippets of footage from the movie here, including a great shot of Defender Strange, Wanda Maximoff's apparent return to Westview, and a scene with the Scarlet Witch destroying the head of an Ultron drone. Looking at her surroundings, we have a feeling this is the same place Doctor Strange is brought before the Illuminati, and that may not bode well for them.

The Avenger is already covered in blood at this point, so they likely won't be Wanda's first victims!

As of right now, it appears this is another day without the new Thor: Love and Thunder trailer. With Easter on the horizon, if it doesn't land on Thor'sday, we can probably forget seeing it this week.

Check out this new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness TV spot below:

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Cinematic Universe unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. We'll journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

The movie's cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Loki Head Writer Michael Waldron.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.

I was about to comment that we’ve had a sequel for Marvel Studios with No Way Home but I guess that’s Sony

@thelastson18 - Black Widow, Shang Chi, and The Eternals, but I guess we are pretending those didnt happen...

@TheHumanSpider2 - yeah I think the article meant actual sequels to established MCU franchises, but I understand where you’re coming from

The build-up to the showdowns in this film and the multiversal/variant elements combined with Raimi serving with his style here has very quickly turned this into one of my most hyped MCU chapters.

Only a few weeks to go before this is out and I like how Marvel has been keeping us in the dark about this movie. We’re expecting cameos but we don’t know who they are yet. This isn’t like No Way Home where we knew about Tobey and Andrew’s return months in advance due to leaks. Disney must have tighter security than Sony.

I couldn't see her destroying the ultron bots but it doesn't surprise me. I think, at least from a visual standpoint, this movie should be crazy. Can't wait

I love the references to that original Dr Strange trailer where they show the shots of the same space from different times in the movie. Makes the ancient one/Mordo voice-over even cooler.

Wanda is rescuing Strange. That has been so obvious from the beginning. She's an ally. She's not the villain in this movie. Stop it.

@SummersEssex - my only hesitation with this thought is that we see Christine working with the Ultron bots in the room where Strange and Chavez are captured, and then there's a later shot of Strange, Chavez and Christine coming out of an interdimentional door which is obviously from later in the movie

My take is that Wanda either gets possessed or captured by the Wanda in that universe, and that universe's Wanda uses main Wanda's power to go and try and overthrow the illuminati. It definitely looks like Wanda ends up in that universe separate from Strange and Chavez arriving

Also, Marvel are liars and their trailers are meaningless

@SummersEssex - my guess is main Wanda is indeed not gonna be a villain. Westview Wanda (either a nightmare version or a variant) on the other hand though might just be. And Supreme Strange is actually trying to save as all from her

@SummersEssex - there are multiple Wanda's in the movie just like there are multiple Strange'... so are we sure at least one of them isn't a 'bad guy'?
