BOX OFFICE: DOCTOR STRANGE Is Still Earning Money As It Debuts At #1 In Japan

Depending on where you live, there may be just a matter of weeks to go until Doctor Strange is released on DVD and Blu-ray. Well, it hasn't finished earning money at the worldwide box office quite yet...

Doctor Strange was finally released in Japan this weekend, and it debuted there with an impressive $4.5 million. This was the final territory that the Marvel Studios movie had to debut in, and as a result, it's now reached the $664 million mark worldwide ($433 million of that has come from overseas). That's a great result for Doctor Strange, and you have to believe we'll now end up seeing a sequel.

The movie passing $700 million would have been nice, but considering the fact that it was produced for around $165 million, it's earned more than enough to justify a follow-up in the very near future.

After all, don't forget that Doctor Strange has passed the worldwide
cumes of The Incredible Hulk ($263 million), Captain America: The First Avenger ($371 million), Thor ($449 million), Ant-Man ($520 million), Iron Man ($585 million), and Iron Man 2 ($623.9 million). Long before the Sorcerer Supreme returns in a solo outing, however, he'll soon return in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War.
