Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been the subject of many rumors lately, whether it's Tom Cruise suiting up as Iron Man or Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme teaming up with Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. Recently, Variety reported on plans for Chris Evans to return to the MCU, and Giant Freaking Robot claims to know which two roles the actor will play.
Yes, you read that correctly: two!
According to the site, which reported on Don Cheadle's The Falcon and The Winter Soldier role before the actor himself confirmed the news, Evans will return as Captain America in the Doctor Strange sequel. However, he'll reportedly be playing the "Captain HYDRA" version of Steve Rogers from the Secret Empire storyline, something we've heard rumored on several occasions from a few different sites.
It would be pretty nuts seeing Evans as a villainous Captain America, but what about that second role?
Believe it or not, this rumor states that he'll don his old Fantastic Four uniform to play the Human Torch again. That's a bonkers idea, but it might be fun to return to that world ahead of the MCU reboot.
This should definitely be taken with a grain of salt for the time being. It would certainly be an interesting use of Evans in the MCU, though, and in some ways, makes more sense than having him return as Cap. His story has, after all, reached its end following the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame.
