dmb1511: When I envision this movie, I see somewhat a gritty modern wasteland that is Manhattan. I picture a city with an extremely high crime, poverty and injustice throughout. But while I see this, I imagine it without filter, like the undergrounds of today have come above ground to claim what is theirs.
bigshow2312: My only expectation of the film is for it to have a realistic, Christopher Nolan take. I truly believe that the Turtles being “Aliens” is a lot more believable than mutants. In addition, the Turtles don’t have to be “teenage” either, but possibly just young adults (psychology-early to mid 20s).

The Shredder - Christopher Judge
dmb1511: Often being cast as dynamic characters, Christopher Judge is great b/c he has a dynamic voice which is a must have for Shredder. Another plus is that he is 47 and still in shape. And, every since I have heard he will appear in “The Dark Knight Rises”, I am still in excitement and bewildered because I don’t know what he will do. But I do know what he is capable of.
bigshow2312: With a profound tone of voice and a frightening appearance, Judge was our ultimate Shredder. His type of qualities will add an even darker tenor to the film.
Screwloose - Chris Williams
Slash - IronE Singleton
dmb1511: IronE Singleton is 5 “10”. He is the perfect size for an alien resembling a Snapping Turtle: short & stocky. Mostly know from “The Walking Dead” Series as T-Dog, he was chosen in our cast because he is one of those guys that are recognize by face instead of name. He needs one of those breakout roles, and I believe this could be it.
bigshow2312: Not only is size imperative but the attitude that the actor can carry throughout the film. That tough and inflexible aspect (seen in
The Blind Side is quite necessary for a blade wielding character.
Rocksteady - Jamal Woolard
Bebop - Quinton Aaron
Wingnut - Kwasi Songui
Baxter Stockman - Rhys Ifans
Metalhead - Tyrone Benskin
Fighting Style of the Turtles: Ninjutsu
Raphael - Dayo Okeniyi
dmb1511: Dayo Okeniyi, most recently seen in “The Hunger Games” as Thresh, was chosen as our ill-tempered turtle because of the anger seen in HG. That menacing look in his face made the audience believe he was evil. This is just what persona Raphael needs captured in a film
bigshow2312:
He was introduced to us through a recent viewing of
The Hunger Games, which is a superb film. In the movie, his character only appeared maybe 40 seconds but he was quite noticeable. The character was filled with rage and brute force which parallels to the character we know as of: Raphael.
Leonardo - Nate Parker
dmb1511: Leonardo is the most responsible turtle that accepts the responsibility of eldest and takes the fall when his team fails even though the ages are unknown. What other way to pull off eldest than to actually insert a slightly older actor. Nate Parker is responsible and unlimited.
bigshow2312: As fans of the
Ninja Turtles, we’ve all noticed how Raphael and Leonardo are at constant odds. To match Raphael’s level of complexity, we needed an actor that has displayed leader-like qualities in films. After watching
Red Tails and
Pride, I think Parker can play any adolescent no matter how old he is.
Michelangelo - Donald Glover
dmb1511: Donald Glover is a comedic actor and aside from being denied permission to portray Spider-Man for obvious reasons, no one can deny his talent. Glover is the second rate comedic actor that deserves more. Anyone that watches him in “Community” will see he can be humorous without going overboard.
bigshow2312: Donald was our apparent choice considering that he is just absolutely a well-liked person. Bearing in mind that this reboot will be more for the fans that grew up with the franchise, I think that Glover could add a dirty-humor factor to the character yet uphold Michelangelo’s charismatic side.
Donatello - Lee Thompson Young
dmb1511: Lee Thompson Young is one of those serious young actors trying to be taken more seriously but is stuck receiving roles he must take to get where he wants to be. He is most known to us nerds as The Famous Jett Jackson, or Cyborg from Smallville. But he is nonetheless a likable Actor with undeniable capability.
Casey Jones - Lenny Kravitz
dmb1511: Lenny Kravitz is nonetheless questionable as Casey Jones, but has proven he can show emotion in “The Hunger Games”. But now I want to see him unleash the violent side of Casey Jones in a gritty film. This is what I want to see in a potential Turtles film.
April O' Neil - Rochelle Aytes
bigshow2312: Rochelle has been one of my favorite female thespians for a while and hasn’t been receiving much attention lately. However, she has such an innocent and graceful appeal yet she is an eye-catcher; qualities suitable for a TV personality.
Master Splinter - Sidney Poitier
bigshow2312: We needed a veteran actor that possesses not only longevity in film but a sense of control on camera; it’s undeniable.
