I just got back from seeing the Avengers a second time and I paid close attention to the details and noticed something. In the opening scene when the mysterious alien character simply called "The Other" (Played by Alexis Denisof) is talking to Loki and later on is shown threatening Loki, he is obviously an alien. But if you look carefully, he is wearing an elaborate dark colored hood and some sort of face guard. Hismouth is about the only thing visible. My first thought was that he was a Chitauri. But The Chitauri's faces are more shaped like an animal skull and are very odd looking. "The Other" clearly has a human-like mouth and jaw behind that weird mouth guard. So you can rule out him being a Chitauri. If you look even closer, his chin looks somewhat odd. Either scars or deformity.
Now lets think, characters in the Marvel Universe do we know that have an odd-looking chin? *Cough* Skrulls *Cough*...
Could it be that he was a Skrull servant of Thanos? Watch the film again, and see if you notice the Chin of "The Other".

I noticed that too. His chin is similar but in a different color

Does this mean Adam Warlock, Captain Marvell, and Quasar are going to make their way in the MCU?

You have to have Adam Warlock in an Infinity Gaulnet story line. Also was Loki's staff have an infinity gem on the tip?

I don't think he's a Skrull. Remember his hands. Not green. 7 fingers, if I counted correctly.

Nice try but if that wasn't Annihilus then my shit doesn't smell.

"The Other" is rumored to be Annihilus but he could be a Skrull too. If I had to guess, Marvel Sutdios is planning to introduce many intergalactic species in the forthcoming films that form Thanos empire.

He is pink skinned and has a wrinkled texture across his entire face. Not a skrull.

The Other" seems to follow/worship Thanos, so he looks like Thanos. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe The Mad Titan probably rules over some sort of race. At least thats sorta the impression I got. He did have 7 fingers though. They purposely kept those scenes dark and short.

In 616 Thanos is the mad god of Titan, a planet of all sorts of powered up gods - like Starfox (who was an Avenger)He dosent rule over this race tho and none of them look like him.

Im pretty sure Thanos got some sort of Augmentation to bring him to a supreme level of power, and he is always looking for more power by picking cosmic trinkets (gems, cubes, swords ect.)

I cant see Annihilus being subservient to Thanos - but this isnt the 616 Universe its the Marvel Movie Universe so you never know.(and im happy for them to keep running how they are at the moment)

I don't think it's Annihilus. That guy doesn't look humanoid.

But you never know. The Chitauri don't resemble the Chitauri in the comics, and aren't too much like the ones in the Ultimate Avengers animated movie. With that in mind, the Other could be of any race, really.

I really hope the Inhumans film gets made before the Avengers throw down with Thanos. They could do wonders with their designs.

6 fingers, he has 6 fingers, suggesting he is more advanced then humans.

I can imagine some backstory will be given into the fact that the Skrulls were the creators of the Cosmic Cube and Thanos is after the Cube.

Come on, don't say the rumor is that The Other is Annihilus. That crap got started by fanboys, period.

People actually thought the alien army was going to be the Annihilation too, even though the aliens looked NOTHING like giant bugs.

Seriously, The Other looked absolutely NOTHING like Annihilus. Nothing at all.

This is just like when people thought the thunderstorm in Incredible Hulk was caused by Thor. People are just throwing wild guesses out that make no sense.

Also, Kevin Feige himself said Marvel doesn't have the rights to the Skrulls...

@ CorndogBurglar I thought he said that its basically first come first serve when it came to the skrulls and the same thing with QuickSilver and Scarlet Withch.

CorndogBurglar - 5/7/2012, 11:46 AM
No, if you read the interview posted on main today he basically said that the rights are tied up with the F4.
MovieMaster

FOX DOESN'T HAVE THE RIGHTS TO SKRULLS. Fiege said there are limits as to what they can do with the Skrulls, and he said two years ago at Comic-Con that they have the rights to the Skrulls, but Fox have the Super-Skrull.

Couldn't you just post this in a comment's section under an Avenger's article?

@uncanny xmen no, that wasnt thanos, why would thanos be talking to thanos wearing a differant suit at the end
superotherside
superotherside - 5/7/2012, 3:41 PM
Doubt it. Perhaps it's a version of Annihilus? I have no idea. Some interviewer needs to ask.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 5/7/2012, 5:08 PM
Its not annihilus.

Why would annihilus be groveling at thanos' feet? Annihilus doesnt bow down to anyone. Also, it looks nothing like annihilus. Not even close.

This is like when all those people thought the invasion army was the annihilation wave. Never mind the fact that the aliens looked nothing like giant bugs. I swear I seriously question the IQ's of people on this site sometimes. If not their IQ's then I question whether they've ever picked up a comic before.

If you look at the others mask, it is built in the same fashion as Annihilus' mask. Look at the pointy teeth. I figure he's playing everyone for his own gain. Why do something when you can get other people to do if for you.

@ kingmonkey

Annihilus doesn't wear a mask, thats his face.
