Captain Britain: British Avenger

Story ideas for if Captain Britain was made to fit in the Avengers line of Marvel Movie Universe

I personally think the general theme of Captain Britain makes a great subject for a comic book movie:

A young British student always fated to become a legendary saviour of his and everyone else’s universe.

However, aspects of his origin and his early appearances in comics doesn’t lend itself well to the tone of the Marvel Movie Universe. Not until Alan Moore and Alan Davis’ work with the character can you truly see the potential this character could have on the big screen. With some tweaking, Captain Britain’s story can become and engaging and universe changing one.

The way I envision the story is that of a legend in the making. For the beginning of the film, would see Merlyn and Sir James Braddock looking down on visions of this new Mighty World of Marvels below (seeing images of the current Avengers movies) and deciding that a most powerful champion can come to being on this world if Braddock is sent back to lay the seed.

Sir James Braddock is sent to replace the fallen soldier James Braddock and returns to Braddock manor in his place and goes on to reproduce and prepare for the birth of a hero. Though excited for his first birth, even giving the child his name, when Sir James hold Jamie for the first time he senses not only great power but a darkness and quickly grow distant towards the boy. His next offspring , the birth of twins Brian and Betsy, is a joyous affair with Sir James recognising the light of power and strengthening bond between the pair. As the children grow those aspects first scene at birth grow with them. Jamie becomes more distant easily begins to use his powers to slightly bend the world for his enjoyment, Betsy’s powers hardly manifest until she is in her teens but her bond with Brian grows, much to Jamie’s disgust . While, Brian’s powers do not manifest at all.

As teenagers, Jamie leaves as soon as he can and uses his power to become a political leader, while Betsy later joins a government psi-programme Sir James funded, in conjunction with international organisations, called S.T.R.I.K.E., and Brian continued with college. While gaining momentum in the political scene and running for Prime Minister, Jamie decides to get rid of his unloving parents to get the sympathy vote by burning down the manor. Brian arrives home to late to save them and Jamie soon wins the election.

Going through the rubble later Brain stumbles upon his dad’s secret lab inside he sees a message left by his father telling him of his great power and destiny, before revealing to him a suit (Alan Davis‘ style) that will bring out that hidden power. In the name of his father and the great land he grew up in he leaves to take the role of Captain Britain.

However, Britain is being slowly warped by its new Prime Minister into an evil dictatorship. Jamie even sends an assassin, Slaymaster, to kill off any telepath that sense this change including his sister. The country goes to hell and the innocent are rounded up into camps. Brian saves his sister not before her boyfriend Tom Lennox sacrifices himself to slow the corrupted S.T.R.I.K.E. guards and aid her escape, and Brian reveals himself as the countries hero and champion of the people.

Betsy and Brian head of to face Jamie in a final battle. Which sees his sister face off against Slaymaster in revenge for killing her boyfriend only to be nearly blinded by him forcing Brian to come to her rescue and kill Slaymaster with a big boulder. After fighting Jamie, Brian holds him up for a final blow but cant bring himself to kill his own brother. Jamie smiles and begins to mold something with the ground by his feet but before he can finish Betsy psi-blades him through the head killing him.

After the battle, the UK begins to go back to normal and all of a sudden a tear in dimensions open in front of Betsy and Brian. A shadowy figure of Merlyn appears surrounded by more shadow figures and calls for the Captain to fulfil his destiny as a member of the Captain Britain Corps (as the shadowy figures come into full view as of Captains). Brian goes with them but Betsy stays but as the rip begins to close the molded dirt by Jamie’s body begins to move and this small mass forms showing the eyes of The Fury which jumps into the closing tear after the Captains...

DUM DUM DUM

As you can see its a reworked version of "Jasper's Warp" but with Jamie. So i like to call it "Jamie's Warp"
