Casting some more of the Marvel Universe

Hello and welcome to my fancast.
This is my interpretation of some actors who could portray characters that have yet to be cast.
I know that for some of these Heroes may have actors better suited to the roles but if I have seen them in every single fancast I tried not to use them
Feedback is always appreciated.

Blade: The day walking Damphir, gained his powers while his mother was going into labour and she was attacked by the Vampire Deacon Frost, passing on a series of enzymes that altered her baby. Has powers of superhuman strength, senses, stamina as well as a accelerated healing factor. Is also immune to vampire bites. Has many of the traditional powers of the Vampire but none of the weaknesses. First came to my attention as a character when he appeared on Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Famously played by  Wesley Snipes previously.

Omari Hardwick:  First came to my notice in Dark Blue, and currently starring in Power where he clearly stands out as the lead, exhibiting some powerful acting. Would be able to portray Blade’s toughness and heroism with gravitas and bring a true grittiness to the role  Has the presence and size to play a superhero.  Previously played Marcus in Kick Ass.

Punisher: A Vietnam veteran, Frank Castle became the vigilante Punisher after seeing his wife and children gunned down for accidentally observing a Mafia hit. Continues his mission to destroy organised crime, wherever he comes across it. Works with other Marvel Heroes, although his brutal Methods  can cause him to come into conflict with them. Famously Played by Dolph Lundgren, Thomas  Jane and Ray Stevenson.

Owain Yeoman: First came to my notice playing Cromartie, a Terminator, in the pilot episode of The  Sarah Connor Chronicles, where he played the role with menace.  Then gained a regular starring role in the Mentalist, where he displayed his range as an actor, playing the likeable Wayne Rigsby. Carries off the action scenes with confidence.

Iron Fist:  Danny Rand is the latest in a long line of warriors, wielding his powers against evil. At nineteen years of age, Rand requested and earned an opportunity to win the power of the Iron Fist by confronting Shou-Lao the Undying, whose power resided within a flaming brazier. Rand slew Shou-Lao, a feat no other warrior had ever accomplished, and plunged his hands into the brazier, imbuing himself with the mystic energy of the Iron Fist.

Scott Adkins: A British Actor with a strong background in Martial arts, also practiced  Taekwondo and Kickboxing. He also has background in Ninjitsu, Judo, Karate, Jujutsu,Wushu, Krav Maga, Capoeira, Jeet Kune Do and Gymnastics.  First came to my notice in the Undisputed films playing the antagonist / anti hero Yuri Boyka. An actor who puts a lot of physicality and skill into his on screen fights, where his lifetime of practice and hard work is clearly evident. Is the main attraction in his other films such as Ninja its equally action packed sequel. Played the Hero in El Gringo, another of his good action films. Played the post transformation Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, where the majority of the fight  scenes and stunts were his. An actor who deserves more exposure in my opinion and also is in great physical shape already.

Ancient One:  An ancient being who is the mentor to Doctor Strange, passing on the wisdom, training and discipline that it takes to be Sorcerer Supreme.

Donnie Yen: Hong Kong actor, Martial Artist, Film Director and Producer and Action Choreographer .  First came to my notice in Flashpoint a great  Hong Kong action film with superb fight scenes, since then I have seen as many of his films as I can. Played the legendary Ip Man , in the films of the same name, where he blended his superb fighting abilities with great acting to bring to life the calm persona of the Wing Chun master. One of Hong Kong Cinemas biggest stars. Previously has dabbled with comic movies starring as Snowman in Blade 2, a film where he was also the action choreographer.

Namor:  The Sub-Mariner is the ruler of Atlantis. Half  Human and Half Atlantean, he has been both a Hero and a Villain.  Possesses a high level of superhuman strength, durability and stamina owing to his body’s adaption to underwater pressure. He also possesses superhuman agility, reflexes, and speed, with a maximum swimming speed of roughly sixty miles per hour.

Jack Huston: London born actor, and nephew of Angelica Huston and Danny Huston. Starred in cool Sci-Fi film Outlander where he played the part of Wulfric. Showed great acting skills portraying Richard Harrow the disfigured ex- US Army Sniper in Boardwalk Empire.  Also  played legendary writer Jack Kerouac in the underrated Kill Your Darlings.  Was rumoured to be up for the role of Doctor Strange.

Elektra: Created by Frank Miller, The Scarlet Assassin has been both a Lover of Daredevil as well as his enemy. She is a master of weapons, with the Okinawan Sai being her weapon of choice. Also is a Martial Arts master, and has hypnotic and telekinetic abilities.

Ashley Greene: She is really beautiful. I saw her in Twilight and thought , man this film is crap but that vampire chick is alluring. Looks like Elektra from the comics and I think she would do really well in the  role. Was going to pick Olivia Wilde (she should have been Lois Lane Dammit), but I have seen her in other fancasts so am trying to be original.

The Mandarin:  With the Marvel One Shot, All Hail The King, hinting that there is a real Mandarin, hopefully we will get to see Iron Mans true nemesis on screen. The Mandarin is a brilliant scientist and martial artist who uses the Ten Rings of Power as his primary weapons. Is also a decedent of Genghis Khan.

Andy Lau:  Singer, Actor and Producer. Very talented actor who would bring a lot of talent to the role and is only four years older than Robert Downey Junior, who he would mainly face off against. Played a fantastic bad guy in Infernal Affairs. Came close to appearing in Iron Man 3 but dropped out.  Would be able to legitimise the Character again after the controversial portrayal of The Mandarin in Iron Man 3.

Thank you for taking the time to read my fancast, I hope you enjoyed it and as always look forward to any feedback.

Peace and Love,

Simply Az

- Brian J. White would be a bit more fitting for Blade. He's already got the martial arts skills from DOA: Dead or Alive, and the right size as well (6' 2"). But that's just me talking.
- Interesting Punisher choice!
- Scott Adkins is a great performer, but a little too old for Iron Fist. Danny Rand starts out in his early 20's, in case you're wondering.
- Ashley Greene could be interesting as Elektra. She knows her way around dark roles really well and is athletic.
- I've no idea if they'll recast the Mandarin in a future Iron Man film. Andy Lau is interesting, though.

By the way, in case comments are still accepted, would you please check out my Batman/Superman: World's Finest fancast? I'll have a Spider-Man cast up in a few days following this.

I like it for the most part, but I want to see Manu Bennet as Punisher.

@Quick1029 Quick by name, quick by nature.

@RoadDogXXIV Thanks for the detailed feedback. My personal favourite for Blade has always been the similarly named Michael Jai White but he is already in Arrow as the Bronze Tiger. Hopefully they will show the real Mandarin, having hinted that there is one in All Hail The King. I already commented on your Fancast, it was good.

@KingNTheKong Glad you liked it. I try and be a bit original with my fancasts and try and not use the same actors that are always used in Fancasts or actors that are already playing major Superheroes or Villains. Although Manu Bennet would be a great Punisher.

There's some great choices there, I feel like Scott Adkins would be great as the Punisher even though he won't be able to display his martial arts skills, really like Andy Lau as the Mandarin

@Sal78 Glad you liked it. I did consider casting Adkins as THe Punisher but ultimately went with Iron Fist owing to his skills. I do agree he would make a great Punisher.

Iron fist needs to be Asian American

SimplyAz - 1/6/2015, 2:02 AM
@alamborn19 in the comics he's a blonde guy named Daniel Rand. His father is Wendell Rand and his mother is Heather Duncan, so couldn't quite find the Asian side.

Pretty good fan cast. I agree with what RoadDog said, Scott Adkins is probably too old for the part of Danny Rand, Adkins is a great martial artist though. For Danny Rand i'd pick someone like Alex Pettyfer, he's a decent actor, has the look and age, although he would need work with the martial arts aspect most likely. My pick for Punisher would be Jon Bernthal, i think he'd be perfect for the role. I like your pick for Blade.

@FoxStrikePhenom glad you liked it. Until RoadDogXXIV said I didn't realise that Rand was meant to be so young. Don't know much about Pettyfer, although Bernthal would also make a great Punisher.

First off, love the Ironfist, seriously that man needs more exposure in movies today.

Blade I haven't seen the acting of but i'll trust you there.

I've seen Owain Yeoman be chosen for Punisher before and it makes sense now like it makes sense then.

Ashley Greene I'll honestly see in everything, but i wonder if she's right for the kick butt ninja Elektra, I'd need to be convinced.

Great ancient one, and ...I'm ironically casting Hustin in another Marvel Cast i'm putting together. He's an underrated actor and he'd be superb as Namor.

Honestly any Manderine is a good change from Ben Kingsley.
