The Dark Knight Rises (2012): The Inglourious Basterds-Styled Poster
It all started when I was trying to make a fan-poster for the movie; an intention I have been wanting to do for quite a while. However, I still had the same obstacle even when I started making this poster yesterday: The lack of idea. Nonetheless, even without anything leading me, I just decided to start making it, and the first step I took was to cut Bane's image out of one of the promotional stills recently released. Next, I created a reflection of Bane, which to my own surprise, turned out pretty well. (I've been through quite a tough time to create such reflection.) Then, I had nowhere to go...before the reflection of Bane's reminded me of the poster of Quentin Tarantino's The Inglourious Basterds. No, the movie doesn't have any special place in my heart - in fact, I haven't even seen it yet - but I've always found the poster as pretty catchy, and its style always sticks in my mind.
RoboCop Reboot (2013): Teaser Poster
For the character of RoboCop himself, I manipulated an image of the North Korean Nanosuit from the video game Crysis, with a custom-made helmet and visor that I created from scratch, and Joel Kinnaman's face in the uncovered part of the character's face. As for the poster overall, I decided to use a film grain filter on it, since I'm not that much confident of its look without any filter; mainly due to the rough manipulation of RoboCop. Besides, I did not attempt to cover the body using any armor pieces, too, so that the kevlar vest and other materials featured in the original base image of the Nanosuit would be too visible without any filter. The background is, again, taken from a screenshot of Crysis. For the final touches, I added the title(although it's way too simplistic, in my opinion), the fictional web address of the movie, MGM logo, Sony Pictures logo, and the "Not yet rated" text on the bottom part of the poster. (I suppose the logo of Columbia Pictures should be there alongside MGM's and Sony's, as well, but I had no luck in finding an image of the monochrome version of the logo.)
