I thought that the two Fantastic Four movies were O.K. but there were opportunites that were missed. The Fantastic Four introduced us to many characters and concepts that would become major parts and players within the Marvel Universe through out the decades such as Doctor Doom and Latveria, the Inhumans and Attilan, the Black Panther and Wakanda, the Skrulls and Kree Empires and of course Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Here are my casting choices for the Fantastic Four Universe and possible sequel content to introduce characters to the Marvel movie universe similar to how they were first introduced in the comics universe. So here we go....
Fantastic Four Movie #1.
Alexis Denisof = Reed Richards,Mr. Fantastic.
Gretchen Mol = Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman.
Cam Gigandet = Johnny Storm, the Human Torch.
Adam Baldwin = Ben Grimm, the Thing.
Bryce Dallas Howard = Alicia Masters.
Bad Guy for this first go around, the Mole Man of course. Wayne Knight = the Mole Man.
Fantastic Four Movie # 2. Vs Doctor Doom.
Richard Armitage = Victor Von Doom. (and no, we will not be seeing his face, scarred or unscarred, unless it's in a flashback pre Doom in armor.)
William Morgan Sheppard = Boris.
Jared Harris = Gustav Hauptman.
Fantastic Four Movie #3. Vs. Puppetman.
Andy Serkis = Phillip Masters/Puppet Master.
Fantastic Four Movie # 4. Atlantis Attacks! The movie's plot is a modified take on Jim Lee's "Heroes Reborn" Fantastic Four vs Submariner story. Namor, at the urging of his military advisor Warlord Krang, declares war on the surface world for various perceived wrongs against the kingdom of Atlantis. But unknown to Namor, Krang has struck a secret alliance with the undersea warlord of the baarbarian tribes, Attuma and the whole invasion is nothing more than an elaborate plot to eliminate Namor and give the two warlords join power over the undersea territories and gain a foothold to conquering the surface world.
Dominic Purcell = King Namor, the Submariner.
Ron Perlman = Warlord Krang.
Morena Baccarin = Lady Dorma.
Kristen Bell = Namorita.
Roland Kickinger = Attuma.
Fantastic Four Movie #5. Vs. Diablo. Movie plot would combine story elements from Diablo's first appearance and that of the first appearance of Dragon Man, who for the movie's purpose would start off as a stone contruct rather than an android.
Al Pacino = Estaban Diablo.
CGI Dragon Man.
Fantastic Four Movie #6. Into the Negative Zone.
Michael Clarke Duncan = Blastaar the Living Bomb-Burst.
Crispin Glover = voice and motion capture for CGI Annihilus.
Fantastic Four Movie #7. Invasion of the Skrulls.
John Noble = Emperor Dorrek.
Cate Blanchett =Empress R'Kill.
Shannyn Sossamon = Princess Anelle. (Yeah, the "future" mother of Young Avengers member Hulkling.)
Eric Bana = the Super Skrull. For movie purposes he'll be Warlord Morat who in the comics was Princess Anelle's one time fiance.
Fantastic Four Movie #8. Vs. The Frightful Four.
Gary Oldman = The Wingless Wizard.
Dash Mihok = the Trapster.
Ty Olsson = the Sandman.
Melissa Archer = Medusa.
With Medusa appearing in movie #8 , obviously it is a set-up for the next Fantastic Four movie Movie #9, Enter the Inhumans.
Christian Bale = Black Bolt.
Dreama Walker = Crystal.
David Belle = Karnak the Shatterer.
Oleg Taktarov = Gorgon.
Luke Goss = Triton.
Joaquin Phoenix = Maximus the Mad. (Yeah, I know he supposedly is no longer acting, but this is a Fantasy Casting isn't it?)
Fantastic Four Movie #10. Vengeance of the Black Panther.
Okay, I don't want Tyrese Gibson for the role of T'Challa, I'm only using his photo for this because who I have in mind for the part would be a solid unknown African or British born Black actor with similar features, skin tone and build to that of Tyrese Gibson for the role of Prince T'Challa, the Black Panther. Gibson has the right appearance for how I personally picture T'Challa looking in my head if he were a real flesh and blood person, but he lacks the acting chops to pull off the regal bearing needed for the role.
Seen in flashback sequences,Djimon Hounsou = King T'Chaka. I know there are those out there that say he should be the Panther. I'm not one of them. Ten years ago I would have said he was perfect. Now not so much. If he is chosen for the Panther, then the same logic should have been applied for Mark Valley or Matt Damon actually get cast as Captain America.
Mads Mikkelsen = Ulysses Klaw.
Fantastic Four Movie #11. Vs. The Mad Thinker and his Awesome Android.
Vincent D'onofrio = the Mad Thinker.
CGI Awesome Android.
Fantastic Four Movie #12. The Coming of Galactus.
Okay, I know there are some comic/movie "fans" out there that think that the "Cloud Galactus" that appeared in the second Fantastic Four film was the best way to go because it was more "realistic" and the "giant purple human" would have looked corny. WRONG! The hands of the right creative filmakers, Galactus could have been both realistic and faithful to the classic comic version. A few simple tweaks using things that have actually been established in the comics were all that would have been needed. Here are two things that could have been done in my opinion.
1. Since Galactus was created from the primal universal energy from a prior "Universe", he is a being composed of entirely primal cosmic energy and his armor is to contain his energy essence. (Ala Wildfire from the Legion of Super Heroes series.)
2. Since he is nothing but pure energy within the armor, e would not have facial features as he does in the comics. Instead the area of his helmet were his "face" is usually exposed would be enclosed similar to the way the Celestials "faces" are.
Christopher Judge = voice and motion capture for CGI Galactus.
Final tweak for Galactus, he would have four heralds at one time instead of one.
Silver Surfer, Air Walker, Firelord and Terrax. The Surfer would be the herald seen through out the movie since he is the herald to find Earth. The other three heralds would only be seen in a "recap" sequence when either the Surfer or the Watcher would explain to Reed and the rest of the team what/who Galactus is.
Finally, I have no Fantatic Four movie sequels thought up yet for these characters, but do have casting choices.
Alan Cumming = voice and facial capture for CGI Impossible Man.
Lee Arenberg = Ivan Kragoff, the Red Ghost.
Nathaniel Arcand = Wyatt Wingfoot.
Christina Hendricks = Frankie Raye, Nova the Herald.
Any constructive feedback whether positive or negative on these casting choices would be appreciated.
