Fancast/Fan Fic: JUSTICE LEAGUE

Hit the jump to check out my latest take on a Justice League movie, which is set in the DC Cinematic Universe likely consisting of Man Of Steel. Spoiler Alert: Other than a couple of references, this story lacks of Aquaman.

Hey all,

With Man Of Steel likely beginning a DC Cinematic Universe, I felt inspired to begin crafting my own take on what that would be like. I've posted a World's Finest fan fic/fancast, as well as one for a Wonder Woman. Now, I'm bringing everything together for none other than Justice League. In the following plot outline, I worked very hard to develop a mostly original story, properly developing the lead characters, and more. I want to thank Jolt17 for his advice/ideas for where the story should go. I drew a lot of influence from the Justice League animated series, as well as DC: The New Frontier. Of course, I've included my fancast and crew for the film, some familiar and some new faces.

Well. Here goes nothing.

JUSTICE LEAGUE

-Opening Scene: Zoom in on the red planet Mars, which is populated with an advanced race of telepathic, shape-shifting Martians. They live a relatively common life, and they rarely became involved in war.

-New Scene: Many Martians rally to hear a speech from J'onn J'onzz, who was one of the race's leaders and was extremely intelligent. He began speaking about how the planet has thrived for centuries, and announces that, in honor of not having a war for many years, the remaining weapons of mass destruction on Mars would be disarmed. J'onn desired to see an entirely peaceful Mars. In addition, he had a loving family, and didn't want them to be in harm's way.

-New Scene: Two days later, J'onn is outside on the balcony of his home, looking into outer space. He admires the beauty of the universe, and when his wife Jaina joins him, he feels an overwhelming amount of thankfulness.

-New Scene: However, J'onn's happiness wouldn't last much longer. Suddenly, he sees a massive ship hover above Mars, and a large number of alien-like creatures were dropped onto the planet. One of them, whose long dark hair made him look very similar to a lion, introduced this army. Calling himself Kalibak, he reveals that he's the general of the Parademon army for the planet Apokolips. He was ordered to wipe out life on all planets, and repopulate them with some of Apokolips' citizens. He then yelled, "For Darkseid!", which led his army into a chant. Stunned by the sudden arrival, the Martians started preparing for war. Other ships from Apokolips landed on Mars as well.

-New Scene: The Parademons and Martians have been battling for three days straight. The former clearly had the advantage, especially with Mars' most powerful weapons destroyed just a couple days ago. During the brief war, J'onn's family was killed, which gave him uncontrollable grief and made him want to defeat the Parademons even more. When his family fell, J'onn engaged in battle with the couple Parademons who did the deed, defeating them both.

-New Scene: J'onn sees that virtually every Martian was dead or dying. Realizing that trying to defeat them on his own was pointless, he attempts to escape, but he sees that all of the Martian ships have been destroyed. He found a location underneath his home, where he successfully hid until the Parademons were nowhere in sight.

-New Scene: J'onn goes to the surface of Mars, lamenting the loss of his entire race. As he had no means of transportation, he was left to stay on the now desolate planet. Suddenly, a blue force field of sorts started to surround him. Within a minute, J'onn disappeared.

-New Scene: Cut to Gotham City. A scientist named Dr. Saul Erdel was experimenting with teleportation, and was attempting to beam up something from outer space. His device started beeping, confirming that something has been picked up. To Erdel's shock, a Martian appeared in his laboratory. When asked who he was, the Martian tells him, and that he was the last of his kind. Erdel was so stunned, he had a heart attack immediately after J'onn finished speaking and fell on his face. [The doctor had a history of heart conditions.] J'onn then goes over to Erdel, who was dead. Disappointed, J'onn looks out the window of the building and sees a large city. Feeling lost and meaningless, the Martian decided to go undercover and try to fight those who have wronged others. Loosely basing his apparel upon Erdel's, he takes the alias of John Jones, a detective. He leaves the building and begins to roam the streets of Gotham. [This all takes place about a year after the events of World's Finest.]

-New Scene: Fast forward to the present day. [Four and a half years after Man Of Steel, two years after the Wonder Woman movie and 1.5 years after World's Finest.] Superman is seen flying in outer space, heading towards Earth. He visits the Fortress of Solitude, and while there, he goes up to a statue of his parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van. He bows his head in respect, and flies up back into the atmosphere.

-New Scene: Superman is then seen flying in Metropolis. He suddenly hears many people shouting in fear, and from the corner of his eye, he spots a building that's on fire. He flies towards the building, which had a fire truck beginning to pull people out. Superman flies into the building and carries two to three people out at a time. And as expected, he saves the day once again to the applause of a nearby crowd.

-New Scene: When he touches the ground, Superman is instantly surrounded by news reporters and interviewers. He was asked repeatedly about his teaming up with Batman the year before, and if he had any plans to work with other heroes in the future. The interviewer who asked that was scolded by another, saying that Superman doesn't really need any help and that he was THE definitive superhero. There was also mention of the Man Of Steel's being brainwashed during his team-up with Batman. Superman, clearly troubled by this discussion, flew away.

-New Scene: Meanwhile, in Central City, a truck is speeding away from a bank robbery. Two criminals are driving. Two cops nearby hop into a police car in pursuit, calling for back-up. The older of the two then asked where Barry Allen was.

-New Scene: Shortly after leaving the scene of the crime, a red and yellow streak ran in front of the truck. They turned a sharp corner in an attempt to avoid it. One of them asked if that was Superman, and the other said that it was unlikely. Then, the streak comes running alongside the driver's side, and it turns out that it's none other than The Flash, the city's hero. He swings the door open starts knocking the daylights out of the driver, who went unconscious. As a result, the truck starts to go out of control, and Flash hops into the driver's seat to take the wheel. He knocks the other robber unconscious, and before he can stop speeding, the truck flies off of a bridge. Before Flash knew it, a shining green light surrounded the vehicle and carried it to the bridge.

-New Scene: A surprised Flash hops out of the truck, and Green Lantern came down onto the bridge next to him. The two are very different: one is lighthearted and a complete goofball, while the other is almost 100% serious and virtually hard as a rock. After stating that he was just visiting (when asked what he was doing in Central City), GL criticizes Flash for his handling the heist ("I was just minding my own business, until I saw what you were pulling off. You could've easily killed somebody.") When the Scarlet Speedster said that he was going too fast to keep the truck under control, Lantern remarks, "Yeah, you seem to do that often." He then flies away, leaving a puzzled Flash looking at the truck as cops approached it. He sped away.

-New Scene: During the investigation of the crime, cop Barry Allen arrived late to the scene. An older, superior cop asked him why he was late, and he gave a rather pathetic excuse. After a discussion about Barry's consistently being late and an overall weaker job in the past year, he was fired.

-New Scene: Barry arrives home later that night, feeling very depressed due to being laid off his job and being sharply rebuked by Green Lantern. He then tries to sleep, but he has a nightmare which includes flashbacks of his origins: He went to a crime scene where a scientist was murdered. There were several broken beakers of chemicals on the ground. Suddenly, a lightning bolt came down, attracted to the chemicals. Barry, not realizing that he was standing on the liquids, was electrocuted. He is then shown to be in a hospital, and later shows his running at an incredibly fast pace. He dons a costume which enhanced the electricity within him, and vows to defend civilians as The Flash. Next scene shows his mother being attacked and murdered by a random thug, and Flash runs towards her attempting to save her, but he's suddenly so slow that he couldn't reach her in time. Barry then wakes up, drenched in sweat.

-New Scene: Cut back to Gotham. John Jones is roaming the streets at night, and he comes across a door that has some sort of commotion going on. Curious, John opens the door. [In public and in human form, he tries not to use his Martian powers.] He sees a large group of ninja-like characters battling a guy dressed as a bat. John has heard of Batman before, and he watches as the Dark Knight fights like the devil against the "Society of Assassins." Batman finally knocks out the final assassin, whose body pushes over a pot of fire that set a curtain aflame. John sees this and trembles to his knees, staring into the flames. Batman, who has also heard of this detective, grabs him, shoots his grappling hook, and flies into the skies.

-New Scene: Batman locates John's apartment and puts him in bed. Still awake, Jones asks how Batman found out where he lived. The Caped Crusader said that he knew everything about him, except where he came from. He stated that he felt like he could be trusted, "But make no mistake. It took a $75,000 slice of meteor to defeat the one in Metropolis. For you, all I need is a penny for a box of matches." With that said, Batman disappeared. Troubled, Jones went to sleep.

-New Scene: Cut to Apokolips. Kalibak approaches a figure sitting on a throne and kneels. He confirms that re-habitation of Mars was underway, and that Earth will be the next target. His master gives him the okay, and preparations begin to strike that planet.

-New Scene: Cut to Washington DC. US Marine Steve Trevor and his girlfriend, Diana Prince, are attending the second Inauguration for the President of the United States. With candidate Lex Luthor out of the running (due to his being jailed for his crimes in World's Finest), Thomas Williams easily won re-election this last November. Suddenly, Diana looks toward the city and sees a streak of smoke coming out. She excuses herself and leaves.

-New Scene: A hulk-like being called Solomon Grundy was smashing through downtown Washington DC, just miles from the Capitol. Thankfully, Wonder Woman came down just in time. Annoyed, Grundy picked up a car and threw it at her. She grabs the car and swings Grundy back like a baseball. The two do intense battle, but finally, Wonder Woman emerged victorious.

-New Scene: As Grundy was being loaded into a police truck to be taken to a special prison, news reporters swarmed Wonder Woman with various questions. Uncomfortable, she flies away. Instances like this within man's world still perplex her.

-New Scene: Diana is watching television in her apartment. Superman is on the news channel, and as she's switching the channels, she sees pieces on other heroes (Batman, Flash and Green Lantern especially). There's even mention of rumors insisting that the "long-lost city" of Atlantis was still thriving beneath the sea. Diana is intrigued by these characters, making her wonder if she's contributing anything worthwhile in this area with so many others around. Suddenly, Steve comes in, and he mentions something about the government's distrust for superpowered beings, expressing his concern for Diana.

-New Scene: Cut to the Batcave, a hidden cave below Wayne Manor that's used as Batman's headquarters. Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred, is doing some cleaning at the Batcomputer. He then hears an opening, and sees the Batmobile pulling up. Batman hops out, and Alfred tells him that dinner was ready. Batman thanks him, but states that he wasn't hungry. Alfred leaves.

-New Scene: Right after this, John Jones mysteriously appears in the Batcave, complimenting its appearance. When Batman asked how he got in, Jones merely said, "That's my secret, Mr. Wayne." Shocked, Batman replies, "Turns out you are quite the detective, Jones." John then asks him if he could contact Superman, as he was aware of the two heroes' team-up in Metropolis. He promises to unveil his "secret" to both of them.

-New Scene: Clark Kent returns to his apartment after a long day, and to his slight annoyance, his phone begins to ring. Surprised to see that Bruce Wayne was calling, he answered. Wayne says that he'd like Clark to meet a friend of his in the Batcave, and Kent agrees to come.

-New Scene: Clark Kent arrives at the door of Wayne Manor, and Alfred greets him and lets him in, telling him that he should suit up as Superman before showing him the way to the Batcave. Clark agrees, taking off his glasses and starting to unbutton his shirt.

-New Scene: Superman enters the Batcave, and engages in conversation with Batman and John Jones. The detective unveils his full Martian form (startling the two heroes), and introduces himself as J'onn J'onzz, the last surviving telepathic/mind reading Martian of Mars. Batman then said, "So that's how you knew who I really was." J'onn replied, "I didn't need to read your mind. I'm a detective, remember?" The Martian then went on about how his entire race was wiped out, and he felt that the same invaders will soon arrive to Earth. Superman agrees to take them down once they land, but Batman notes that he may not be able to defeat them by himself. Even the three of them would have difficulty bringing down an army known for destroying whole civilizations. Superman asks, "What are you proposing?" Batman grins in response.

-New Scene: Batman pulls up files on some superheroes on his Batcomputer: Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (John Stewart), The Flash, Aquaman and Green Arrow. He, Superman and J'onn decide to bring in all except for Aquaman and Arrow. J'onn begins to use his telepathic powers to draw in the three recruits.

-New Scene: Cut to Detroit. John Stewart is seen walking downtown and into his apartment, and he pulls out his green lantern and charges his ring. As he's charging, he recited the oath of the Green Lanterns Corps: "In brightest day, in darkest night, no evil will escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might beware my power, Green Lantern's light!" GL flies out of his apartment and into the atmosphere. While in the air, John hears a voice inside of him telling him to go to Gotham City. When asked who this was and how it was talking to him, the voice simply said that it was an ally. Stewart starts flying towards Gotham.

-New Scene: Cut to Central City. Barry Allen is walking outside of his house, and he too hears a voice telling him to go to Gotham, ensuing a similar conversation as the one with John Stewart. Barry waited until no one was in sight, and he starts running. As he ran faster and faster, his Flash costume formed onto his body. He is now running at a supersonic speed towards Gotham.

-New Scene: Diana Prince is on a stroll in Washington DC, and again, she engages in conversation with a mysterious voice inside her head telling her to go to Gotham. She takes off her glasses and unbuttons her shirt, revealing the Wonder Woman breastplate. Diana takes off into the skies fully suited up.

-New Scene: Batman, Superman and J'onn J'onzz are all on a rooftop in Gotham City. They're met by Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Flash, and they all introduce themselves. J'onn explains why this team is being assembled, and that they should be prepared for the coming invasion of Earth. There's some clear friction at first, with Lantern and Flash still feeling tense toward each other after their argument the other day and Wonder Woman feeling uneasy towards Batman (whose appearance reminded her of a demon). Superman and J'onn encourage the team to work together and iron out any grudges/issues between each other.

-New Scene: The team enter the Batcave, which will be their "headquarters" until further notice. Flash is in awe of the place. He sees a giant statue of a Tyrannosaurus Rex and exclaims, "Hey! That's a giant dinosaur!" Green Lantern rolls his eyes. Alfred, who's also in the cave, replies, "And I thought Batman was the detective." The group is then engaged in a conversation about how to combat Kalibak and his forces. J'onn notes that Kalibak is only one figure in front of his ruler, the king of Apokolips, called Darkseid. Green Lantern rather randomly questions why Flash was recruited, saying that he was more about showing off than actually saving the day. [He firmly believed that such light-hearted characters shouldn't be considered actual heroes.] Flash retorts that he can save the day properly when necessary, and says GL isn't fun at all. The two engage in another heated discussion, which Superman had to break up. Wonder Woman criticized Batman for taking on such a dark persona, saying that heroes need to be more open to the public than being secluded to a vigilante's career. Batman remained silent. As the whole team is thrown into disarray (touching on topics such as the non-superpowered Batman being a member, working with an alien that they didn't know/trust, etc.), Alfred comes in and yells at the top of his lungs, "Children! Enough!" The group looks at the butler, who tells them to return to Metropolis immediately because the invasion has already begun.

-New Scene: Kalibak's dozen ships are seen entering the Earth's atmosphere, and are targeting Metropolis as the start of the invasion. Kalibak lands his ship in the middle of the city.

-New Scene: Superman and Green Lantern get a head start, while the rest of the team follows them to Metropolis. Batman has a news report on in the Batwing, with Lois Lane stating that a series of giant ships were landing in the city. Flash is running at top speed, while Wonder Woman and J'onn J'onzz are flying side-by-side. On the way, Lantern notices Flash running ahead of him and started to wonder if he has been wrong about him. He apologized to Superman for his outburst, and expressed his hope that Flash proves himself to be a worthy hero that day. Supes just nods.

-New Scene: The heroes arrive in Metropolis, which already has plenty of damage done. Kalibak and his army of Parademons came out of their ship, and the general gave a speech similar to the one he gave shorty before Mars' conquest. This sickens J'onn. Superman goes right up to him, and the rest of the team shows up behind him. Kalibak gives the order to attack, and the two forces engage in an epic battle.

-New Scene: Flash speeds off and moves Lois Lane and others away from the battle scene. Superman goes toe-to-toe with Kalibak, and seems to have an advantage. Batman is in the Batwing, and engages in an aerial battle with a couple of smaller ships. Green Lantern fires on Parademons with a machine gun made from his ring. Wonder Woman slices several with her sword, and deflects blasts off with her gauntlets. J'onn gladly takes out quite a few, with some going right through him before being paralyzed.

-New Scene: Green Lantern and Flash go back-to-back surrounded by Parademons. The latter forms a whirlwind that sends some up after running around them at full speed, and the former strikes them with a baseball bat. Gleefully, Flash says, "That's more like it!" Kalibak is seemingly down after being punched through a semi truck, so Superman comes over and blows freeze breath on several Parademons. Wonder Woman smashes them with her bare hands, while Lantern punches more with a giant green fist into the air. These are taken out by the Batwing midair. Kalibak then gets back into action, and continues his fight with Superman.

-New Scene: The Batwing is shot down by an enemy ship. Batman hops out of the vessel midair, shoots his grappling hook into a nearby building, and kicks a Parademon that was leaping at him to the ground. He then begins to do battle with more. He sets off a gas bomb in the midst of several Parademons, and as they couldn't see him, he was able to take them out easier. He slices some in the face with his gauntlets.

-New Scene: Batman sees that Kalibak is starting to have an advantage over Superman, who is slowly getting weaker as the battle rages on. Batman goes in to help him, dodging a couple Parademons and disabling them with an electric gadget, but Kalibak slaps him in the abdomen. This caused some items to fall out of his utility belt, including a piece of Kryptonite. Batman is sent flying, and he hits a nearby wall. Upon seeing the Kryptonite, Superman trembled, and Kalibak, seeing his chance, beat the Man Of Steel brutally. Batman got up to help him, but a few Parademons dog piled him and bound him.

-New Scene: J'onn is set on fire during the course of the battle. Flash is hit by a blast from one of the Parademon's guns, not killing him but injuring him enough to stop running. Green Lantern's hand with his ring is sliced off, and he's knocked unconscious before he could place the ring on his other hand. After defeating Superman, Kalibak fought Wonder Woman and took her down too. After the heroes lost, Kalibak ordered them to be brought back to Apokolips as prisoners, as they're too valuable to kill (at least right away).

-New Scene: All six heroes are bound aboard the mothership. Most of the Parademons stayed in Metropolis, and some traveled across the world to continue the conquest. Many civilians died during the battle, including the Daily Planet's Jenny Olsen. Kalibak returns to Apokolips with the prisoners.

-New Scene: Cut to Apokolips. Kalibak presents his prisoners to his ruler, Darkseid. He steps away from his throne, goes over to Superman and holds his head, particularly intrigued by this being. He then gives the OK to throw them in prison. It's a very dark prison with no sunlight, which made Superman powerless. It's also underground and several miles away from the palace.

-New Scene: Darkseid meets with Kalibak about Superman. Kalibak says that he's immune to Kryptonite, which made Darkseid delighted, as he knew that those weakened by the rock are Krytponians. He had always wanted to add the head of a Kryptonian to his prized collection. He gives his primary executioner, Desaad, the order to behead the Man Of Steel.

-New Scene: Back in the prison, the heroes attempt to break free, but can't. Desaad, with two Parademons behind him, approaches Superman with a knife formed from the piece of Kryptonite. Realizing that he couldn't fight back, Superman decides to give in and accept his fate. Suddenly, Flash manages to break free after vibrating his arms as fast as possible. He repeatedly punches Desaad in the face and kicks him in the abdomen, pushing him into the Parademons behind him. He frees the other heroes, and they run from the prison and fight their way through. Green Lantern, who now has his ring again, made a large hole in the roof, allowing the sun to come through and restore Superman's powers.

-New Scene: The team is now out of the prison, and is surrounded by both Parademons and Female Furies (the latter, an all-female army that serves as Darkseid's personal guard, being led by Big Barda). Another epic battle engages, with Superman smacking his hands to send some away and Green Lantern forming a giant robot from his ring to shoot others down. Wonder Woman engaged in a sword fight with Barda, while Batman was fighting Kanto, an Apokolian assassin.

-New Scene: During the heat of the battle, Superman spots Kalibak, and the two engage in a rematch. Superman has the advantage at first, but Kalibak then slams his hands onto the Man Of Steel's head, making him dizzy. Batman, having defeated Kanto, throws an explosive Batarang at Kalibak, pushing him back. Superman regained his footing and finally defeated the general.

-New Scene: The heroes finally defeated the majority of Apokolips' forces. From a distance, they can see more coming. But they knew that they were needed back on Earth, so they planned an escape. Superman wanted to go after Darkseid and finish him, but Batman insisted that that was a bad idea. Supes seemed PO'd to hear, and Bats just glares. Green Lantern forms a giant circle around the heroes, and they all ascend from Apokolips and into outer space.

-New Scene: The team is in space, and the green ball they're in heads towards Earth. Despite their doubts, they managed to get through the atmosphere and landed (somewhat) safely home. They crash land onto the ground. GL helped Flash up, praising him for his heroic acts during the battle. The two are reconciled. Lantern even said that if it wasn't for Flash, they'd still be in prison and Superman would be dead. The Man Of Steel agreed, and Flash was just grinning.

-New Scene: The Parademons in Metropolis look and see six figures approaching the city. [This is a homage to 0:05-0:19 of the following video.] The heroes then enter, and the battle rages on. Superman destroys a wave of Parademons with a powerful heat vision blast, and Green Lantern formed a new hand to replace his lost one with his ring, and he made that hand hold a machine gun to battle. Flash sends some up in a whirlwind, and Batman sets explosive batarangs onto them in midair. After winning this battle, they went to other cities all over the world and repeat.

-New Scene: The six heroes return to Metropolis triumphantly, with the press praising them for their actions. Batman sees this as the beginning of a superhero team that can protect the Earth, and despite his life-long reluctance about such beings, he felt like this could work. He also realized that he could provide a base. Years ago, he built a satellite space station that would orbit the Earth. He calls Alfred and tells him to launch it from beneath the Batcave, and that it'll be called 'The Watchtower'. Sometime later, the group is presented medals by the President of the United States. Steve Trevor was among those in attendance of the ceremony.

-New Scene: Soon after the war ended, the heroes have a meeting in the Watchtower. Batman and Superman are looking out the window, while Wonder Woman and Flash come onboard via a teleportation room, which was inspired by Dr. Saul Erdel's work. Green Lantern has a new robotic hand, thanks to Batman's technology, and J'onn joined the rest of the team. Superman talks about how he once thought he could protect the Earth on his own, but Apokolips' attack proved him otherwise. He then discussed how working as a team resulted in saving the planet, and that the team should remain together to combat any future threats. He even suggests a name: The Justice League. Flash thought the name was corny (Green Lantern says, "And you wanted to go with Super Friends."), but agreed with Superman followed by everyone else. Additionally, Wonder Woman is starting to like Batman, who proved her wrong in that he was more than just a vigilante. She also figured that she had plenty to offer in protecting others after all. J'onn realized that this could be his chance to start over with a new family. Final shot: The Watchtower in front of Earth, showing just a fraction of the beauty of the universe.

-Post-Credits Scene: Inhabitants of Apokolips are enraged at their defeat. Darkseid says that, despite the planet's humiliation, another invasion wasn't necessary, and that he could possibly start chaos from within the Justice League's world rather than outside of it. Later, he's talking to a figure about heading to Earth and making things rough for the League. This figure is Sinestro, an enemy of the Green Lantern Corps after being exiled for betraying them. [This sets up the formation of the Legion Of Doom/Injustice League in the sequel.]

Now, onto the cast!

Director: Zack Snyder - The Man Of Steel director is already rumored to be tackling the superhero ensemble if/when his Superman film is a big hit, and personally, I think he's the most ideal choice for Justice League. He does comic book adaptations very well, and has more than enough experience to bring together DC's greatest heroes. Plus, he's visually an incredible director. Imagine a Justice League movie Snyder-style. Yeah, that would be awesome.

Screenwriter: David S. Goyer - After working on The Dark Knight Trilogy, Goyer has since moved on to write Man Of Steel. Assuming that he does a great job with that, he would, again, be the most ideal and obvious candidate to rewrite Justice League (as Will Beall's script has reportedly been canned). Like Snyder, he has a good track record with comic book movies (for the most part), and he has experience writing the two greatest comic book heroes of all time. Nuff said.

Composer: Hans Zimmer - Another Dark Knight Trilogy/Man Of Steel player, Zimmer is probably the greatest film composer of this generation. He knows how to make an epic score, and Justice League needs as much epic as possible.

Producers: Charles Roven, Zack & Deborah Snyder; Executive Producers: Christopher Nolan, Emma Thomas, Geoff Johns

A DC Entertainment production, distribute by Warner Bros. Pictures [Note: I would include Legendary Pictures as a co-producer like before, but WB's relationship with them is said to be ending by the end of the year.]

Superman/Clark Kent - Henry Cavill (Man Of Steel)

Character Bio: In the past 4.5 years, Superman has become a symbol of hope and an idol for not only the people of Metropolis, but of the world. However, he faces perhaps his greatest challenge in leading a group of fellow superheroes to save the planet.

Costume Details: Pretty much the same as the Man Of Steel suit, except I would have slightly brighter colors and a couple of red patches to the thighs.

As this is in continuity with Man Of Steel, I would logically bring back Henry Cavill as Superman. Every time I see an image or snippet of footage of the actor in character, I can't help but think that his casting could very well be one of the greatest in comic book movie history.

Batman/Bruce Wayne - Richard Armitage (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey)

Character Bio: Billionaire Bruce Wayne has been secretly defending Gotham as the vigilante Batman for several years. Despite his reluctance, he agrees to work with Superman and other heroes to defend the Earth from intergalactic forces, even though he is only a human.

Costume Details: All black cowl/cape, white lenses, yellow utility belt, large black bat emblem, grey body. Essentially, a cross between the New 52 and Arkham Origins costumes.

Armitage is a wonderful choice to play an older, more experienced Batman. Not only does he have the looks/charm for Bruce Wayne, he also has the intensity needed to play the Dark Knight. He also has blockbuster experience in Warner Bros.' The Hobbit trilogy and a minor role in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Wonder Woman/Diana Prince - Gina Carano (Haywire)

Character Bio: After defeating Ares a couple years ago, Diana of Themiscyra has since become an icon/role model of sorts as Wonder Woman. She defends Washington DC from criminals and super villains, but now she's bringing her skills to the next level when she's recruited to combat an alien force alongside other heroes.

Costume Details: While the Wonder Woman movie would have Diana wearing Amazonian armor, she will wear a very different suit for Justice League. Blue pants with small white stars, large yellow breastplate which forms a W with a star at the top, slightly smaller gauntlets. Think a cross between New 52 and Injustice: Gods Among Us costumes.

Gina Carano has become a fan favorite for the role of Wonder Woman, and for good reason. She's gorgeous, she has the perfect look for Diana, she can kick anyone's tail, and she's a decent actress (she did a fairly solid job in Haywire, which was her first acting gig). Plus, she's dating Henry Cavill (Superman) in real life, and she's interested in taking on the role. Sounds good to me.

The Flash/Barry Allen - Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights)

Character Bio: Central City cop Barry Allen has donned the superhero identity of The Flash ever since an accident nearly a year ago. He is now one of the most popular heroes in the media's eyes, and acts like a complete jokester in action. However, Barry also has a very serious side (some of which was shaped by his mother's murder years ago).

Costume Details: A red bodysuit with a small Flash logo in the middle of the chest. Faint streaks of yellow throughout. White lenses, small lightning bolts on the sides of the head.

Scott Porter has been my choice to play Flash for a while (especially since Chris Pine taking the role is unlikely at this point). He has both a funny and a serious side, and he has the look for Barry Allen. He even expressed interest in the role a while back; not to mention that he's a comic book fan. He's an absolutely ideal choice for the Scarlet Speedster.

Green Lantern/John Stewart - David Oyelowo (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes)

Character Bio: The first human to be chosen as a Green Lantern, John Stewart is a tough-as-nails member of the US Marines. He has recently maintained a surprising friendship with Superman, who really liked his character traits, making him an ideal candidate to join the Justice League.

Costume Details: Very similar to the Injustice: Gods Among Us costume, with a slight hint of the Green Lantern movie suit. No white gloves or mask.

Oyelowo is a rising star, having turned in an excellent performance in Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes and soon appearing in near-guaranteed Oscar contender The Butler. He would be a great choice for John Stewart. As for having Stewart appear in a Justice League film before Hal Jordan, I figured it would be a good way to diversify the team lineup a bit. Plus, it would help people think less about the 2011 Green Lantern movie.

Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onzz - Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness)

Character Bio: A leader in an advanced Martian race, J'onn J'onzz's world is shattered when his entire civilization is suddenly wiped out. Now the last surviving member of his race, he goes off to Earth to seek help in an attempt to stop these invaders from future attacks.

Costume Details: Much like his Justice League: Doom costume, but his head is more Martian-like with a small crest on the back of his head.

Cumberbatch is another up and coming star in Hollywood. After his excellent turn as BBC'a Sherlock, he has since gone on to land villainous roles in Star Trek Into Darkness and the upcoming The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug. He is a frequently suggested name for a CBM role, most commonly Doctor Strange. However, I think he would be a fantastic Martian Manhunter. Plus, he knows how to play a detective.

Kalibak - Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)

Character Bio: The general of Darkseid's army, Kalibak is tall, lean, and one of the most powerful inhabitants of Apokolips. He's given the order to wipe out all non-Apokolipian life in the universe.

Costume Details: Golden armor with hints of green here and there. Wears only one sleeve.

Schreiber has some CBM experience after wonderfully playing the villainous Liev Schreiber in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. While he may not reprise that role in the near future, it'd be great to see him go over to a DC role. He would be a good fit for Kalibak, as he has the acting chops and look that'd be perfected with motion capture.

Darkseid - Jeremy Irons (The Lion King)

Character Bio: The proud ruler of Apokolips, Darkseid is a cold-hearted, blood-thirsty king who is also very clever. He wishes to see the universe remade in his image, and expand his kingdom to the farthest reaches of the solar system.

Costume Details: Pretty much the same as his Justice League Unlimited look.

Irons has been my pick to play Darkseid for a long time. He has that voice that's so perfect for a villain (see his brilliant performance as Scar in The Lion King), and he's just a great actor overall. Throw in some mo-cap, and he would be absolutely awesome as one of the DC Universe's greatest villains.

Cameos/Minor Appearances: Alfred Pennyworth (Kenneth Branagh), Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Perry White (Laurence Fishburne), Steve Trevor (Bradley Cooper), Sinestro (Mark Strong), Solomon Grundy (Ron Perlman), Dr. Saul Gerdel (Michael Keaton)

Quite decent, I'd say. I like your third act, and as I've ever said before, I see that you especially can handle big action setpieces well. Also, thanks for taking the note on the villain, and I think that does have an effect on making a more focused story!

However, the build-up to the team's grouping, as well as some of the dialogues, still feels a bit too "cartoon-ish," to me. Yes, the Justice League animated series is a very apparent inspiration in your story, and that's not a bad thing at all, but some things can't just be done the way they would be in the animated series, as this is a whole different medium with its own gravitas. I'm specifically addressing this for Green Lantern's abrupt arrival/interference of Flash's action, John Jones' life and later quick find (just needs more detailing on this part, I think) and - I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before - the quick telepathic call, while for the dialogues, the "Super Friends," bit and Alfred's shouting are still a bit hard to be imagined being done in live-action. I don't blame you for the former, though, as I know the whole build-up part is a VERY tricky part to pull off perfectly (for a team-up movie in a "raw" universe, especially), while crafting dialogues can surely be improved upon.
That's all about the major gripes; I still LOVE your idea of the Martians' ceasing fire and subsequent failure at war (that can be very dramatic, if done right), and Darkseid's capacity is just about right, among a few other things. All in all, this could still use some more work, but you're definitely just getting better; keep up the good work!

Batman doesn't grin! Please see Batman Forever for evidence to support why that NEVER works, lol. Other than that, it's not half bad. I could see it being a good animated movie, not necessarily live-action.

Also PaulRom, I think it's alright but my only problem is the villain. I just don't think Kalibak would be a good villain to start with. I've always been more interested in the villain but I just don't find him all that interesting. It's good though.

Really like this, well done! Agree with pretty much everything with the exception of David Goyer, he's a really poor writer who seems to have struck lucky with Nolan and Snyder. But other than that I can't find a fault with it, again well done!

Thanks for the comments all. Working hard to improve every time.

@soda9: Those are all definitely on the cards in my build up to JL2. I already have a rough plot outline for Batman that I'm currently polishing. Afterwards, I'll get to work on the cast.

Yes indeed Gina Carano is such a decent actress that they had to dub over her voice in Haywire. Astonishing acting, sure she can kick-ass but she can't act. Besides your Wonder Woman choice rest of the cast is decent.
