Hal Jordan: Tom Cruise
Given what we know DC plans to do with adapting their mythos, taking the route of an older, veteran Hal seems the ideal choice. And who better to play him than one of Hollywood's few true stars, Tom Cruise. Not only does he deliver a strong addition to the Justice League cast, few actors are more capable of wiping away the memory of Ryan Reynolds' tenure than Cruise.
John Stewart : Leslie Odom Jr.
A left field choice for sure, as Odom is mostly known for his singing talent but hey, so was Hugh Jackman and look how that turned out. He's taken significant turns at acting on television and has a great stage presence. I mostly know him from his recurring role in Season 3 of Person of Interest, as well as his current run on Broadway in Hamilton. He can deftly caqpture the intense and sensitive aspects of John's character.
Guy Gardner: Aaron Paul
Guy has the potential to be a huge break out character with his "unique" mannerisims and outlook on life as a superhero, the perfect foil to John's "straight man". And few actors could capture what makes him so special quite like Aaron Paul.
Kyle Rayner: Tony Revolori
Always the rookiee, and Hal's heir as "Supreme Lantern" or whatever the heck you want to call him, Kyle is the future for the franchise in the long term. He's also very strange to cast. Technically Hispanic, but all too often drawn white. But Warner Brothers would be foolish to pass up on a chance to insert diversity without an actual race change and so I submit up and coming star Tony Revolori. His unique talent would perfectly enfold Kyle's youthful optimisim and wide-eyed creativity. If you haven't seen him in Grand Budapest Hotel or Dope, do so. He deserves a big break, and this is the perfect break for him.
Kilowog: Arnold Schwarzenegger
Moving on to the alien Lanterns, Kilawog is the first and foremost nessecary addition. The late, great Michael Clark Duncan left big shoes to fill, so who better to fill them than Arnie himself? Just imagine him calling everyone "Poozers". 'Nuf said.
Salaak: Michael Emerson
Choosing the main Lanterns to focus on beyond the central humans is tough, but I think Salaak is an easy addition. He fills a unique place in the Corps that only he holds. And Michael Emerson is exactly the actor needed to embody his intelligent, occaisonally cold calculations.
Katma Tui: Rebecca Ferguson
While I was tempted to jump straight to Soranik Natu, I chose to use Katma first. Allowing Soranik to inherit the ring later in the franchise would allow for long term devlopment. For now, we need an intense actress to play the seasoned female lantern, and Rebecca Ferguson fits the bill. She more than deserves a superhero role, and this is a great fit for her.
Arisia Rrab: Abigail Breslin
It's probably best to leave the whole creepy underage obsession with Hal to the comics, instead placing Arisia in Kyle's rookiee class as his potential love interest. She needs plenty of spunk, which is something Breslin has displayed over the years in spades.
Ch'p: Jonah Hill
Ch'p is, well a squirrel, but being a furry woodland critter didn't stop the world from falling in love with Rocket. Leave it to Jonah Hill to embody a foul-mouthed warrior vermin who is far from cute and cuddly.
Stel: Nonso Anonzie
Stel is one of the great underused lanterns, Stel is far from the stereotypical emotionless robot. While still spouting off data and odds like robots tend to do, Stel manages to stay quite colorful. To properly pull him off, you need an actor with a strong, endearing voice, and Nonso certainly has what it takes to makes the world love a super robot.
Green Man: Glen Powell
First off, for the sake of all that is good in the world, do NOT turn Green Man into whatever that monstrosity was in the old movie. That aside, sweet, goofy Green Man is a fun character whose friendship with Stel makes them a great duo to toss into the rookiee lineup. Glenn Powell was one of the breakout talents on Scream Queens last year and certainly can bring the energy and humor needed in light of dire galactic war.
Sinestro: Sean Harris
Whether as Soloman Lane in Mission Impossible or McDuff in Macbeth, Sean Harris has shown this year just how well he can portray aristocratic ferocity. Sinestro needs a nuanced preformer to ensure that as epic as his Corps may be, their leader is never truely overshadowed. Mark Strong can sleep soundly passing the Yellow Lantern on to Sean Harris.
Arkillo: Robert Burke
Kilowog's dark mirror, there is one area these two rivals share: That of hulking brutes best brought to life using state of the art motion capture animation. And for the man behind the dots, Robert John Burke. Not exactly a recognizable face, but not everyone can be a star in a cast this big. Another character actor put to great use on Person of Interest, he makes for an excellant villain able to vocally go toe to toe with Arnie's rough and tumble drill sargeant.
Karu-Sil: Hailee Stienfeld
One of the mainstays of the Sinestro Corps alongside Arkillo, Karu-SIl is a must have for any adaptation of the legion of fear mongers. While this may be a big break from type for Hailee Stienfeld, she's one of the most talented young actresses of today, and is more than capable of pulling it off both the terror and shattered innocence of this iconic Yellow Lantern.
Enkafos: Reed Diamond
Enkafos may have been short lived (It was an incredible pain just to find a picture of him on the Interwebs to use here) but he made a big impression on me during the Sinestro Corps War event. For one, the Corps needs a stratagist. Secondly, we need some expendable Yellow Lanterns. Enkafos is to Salaak what Arkillo is to Kilowog, and Reed Diamond's tenure on Agents of SHIELD has me sold on him taking his intellectual villainy to another comic universe.
Anti-Moniter: James Earl Jones
AH, yes, the grand-daddy of them all, the Sinestro Corps Guardian and ultimate weapon. And who better to voice this universe destroying giant than the voice of supreme villainy himself: James Earl Jones. The man needs no introduction nor further explanation. He simply is. James Earl Jones.
Now, that's quite a cast! Thanks for bothering to make it through to the end! But for as epic a movie as two Lantern Corps going to war is, it has to have an epic cast.
