On August 1, 2014, Marvel Studios will release their Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Without a doubt, this is one of Marvel's most ambitious moves ever. Why? Out of all their characters, the Guardians are only known by die hard comicbook fans. It was a suprise to most when the studio revealed this to be their 2nd 2014 movie, after Captain America: The Winter Solider. The film is to be directed by James Gunn, but no cast has been announced. I've decided to do a fan cast of my own. Some will be portrayed by real actors and others will be CGI with an actor voicing them. It'll feature the characters that have been mentioned to be in the film so far. Let's get started.

Chris Pine as Star-Lord

I'm aware that a lot of expected Nathan Fillion for the role. It seems Mr. Fillion dosen't have much time on his schedule to play Starlord. He was my first choice, unitl I found that out. Pine has shown us he can handle an outer space film well in Star Trek. He also showed us in Star Trek that he can be a great leader. I'd think he'd be great in the role.

Kate Beckinsale as Gamora

Seems like an odd choice, I know. But Beckinsale did show her fighing skills in the Underworld franchise. She seemed very warrior like in those films. Not to mention her Selena voice would go great with the character.

Peter Mensah as Drax the Destroyer

I've heard both the Rock and Vin Diesel for this role. Good choices, but Drax needs an actor that we can take seriously, and Mensah does that well. His fighting abilities in 300 only makes him more qualified for the role. Plus, like Beckinsale as Gamora, his voice fits Drax a lot better then Diesel or Johnson.

Greg Ellis as Rocket Racoon (voice)

Fans have wanted Ellis in a Marvel film for a while. Earth's Mightes Heroes did give us that, but that didn't last very long. Ellis did have a good voice for Rocket Racoon on the show, so I thought he'd be good in this movie as well. I'm aware people would like Andy Serkis, but Ellis's voice fits RR so much better.

Tony Todd as Groot (voice)

I did want the voice actor from The Avenger's Earth's Mightest Heroes, but I gave it a second thought. Todd has enought bass in his voice for Groot, since I do think the character needs to sound a bit smarter then in EMH. No offense to the show itself, but Todd has just the voice for Groot in my opinion.

Damion Poitier as Thanos

This really shouldn't be a supries to anyone. Poitier played Thanos in the first post credit scenes of The Avengers, but the character didn't speak. I was a bit worried about Damion's voice, but after I heard him speak, I have full confidence in his voice. If not, I made a list of possible actors that could voice Thanos.

Well, that's my fan cast for the GotG movie. Let me know what you all think, and share your thoughts on if Thanos should be portrayed by Poitier fully, or if another actor should voice him.
