Here are my picks for TDKR
Batman/Mickey Rourke
I haven’t seen this choice anywhere, but I think that he is perfect for Frank Miller’s version of Batman. Rourke definitely has the look and acting ability to pull off an aging Dark Knight, if you need a reference point check out his performance in The Wrestler. Also, he is no stranger to Frank Miller, I thought he was perfect as Marv in Sin City. I think both of these roles prove he is the right man for the role.
Alfred Pennyworth/Pete Postlethwaite
You might know Postlethwaite from The Town and Inception, but he is in some other good films as well and I think he is perfect to portray Ole Pennyworth in his final days. I also considered John Hurt and Michael Gambon, but tried to use an original pick. Great actor for a great role.
Carrie Kelly/Chloë Grace Moretz
I chose Moretz because of her role in Kick-Ass. She played a fairly similar to Carrie Kelly and was very good in the movie. Now, that she is a little older and more experienced with a role in Tim Burton’s upcoming Dark Shadows I think she is more than able to step up and take on this
role.
James Gordon/Sam Elliot
I love Sam Elliot and think he is perfect to portray James Gordon. Not only does he have the look, but is a total badass in every role he is in.
Two Face/Clancy Brown
The Kurgan! Now, I know like this seems like a very odd choice for Harvey Dent, but you have to remember I have Mickey Rourke as Batman. This was a hard cast for me, but I tried to find someone who could portray Dent in contrast to Rourke as Batman, and I think Brown is a very versatile actor who could do a great job of Harvey Dent in Frank Miller’s universe. I considered Alec Baldwin, but ultimately chose Brown.
The Joker/Michael Shannon
This is the same pick I used in my Batman Beyond fancast, but I just love Shannon as the Joker so im going to use him again.
The Mutant Leader/Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
The Rock has started proving himself as an actor, and I think a role like this would really give him the opportunity to show that he has become a serious actor. I can just picture him giving some of the Mutant leader’s awesome monologues. I’m surprised he hasn’t been cast as a villain more often, because I think he would be a great bad guy. “Gotham City belongs to the Mutants!”
Dr. Bartholomew Wolper/Tony Shalhoub
I just think Shalhoub looks like Wolper, and is a good actor. He can definitely pull of an over-sensitive doctor, just check him out on Monk.
Ellen Yindel/Brooke Shields
Brooke Shields is around the right, and personally I just think she is really hot. She is also a good actress, who would do great as Yindel.
Green Arrow/Tom Selleck
I think Tom Selleck would make a great Oliver Queen. Not only does he look the part, but also has the right chops to play the emerald archer.
Selina Kyle/Jessica Lange
Some of you might think she is too old, but she is only two years older than Mickey Rourke. She is incredible on American Horror Story and would be great as Selina Kyle. For those of you who haven’t checked out American Horror Story, I suggest you do so ASAP.
And…
Superman/Jon Hamm
I know this pick is used to death, but I can’t resist he is just too perfect as the Kingdom Come or TDKR Superman. If I were casting a Justice League movie, or a Superman reboot I probably would go with a younger, maybe lesser known actor, but for TDKR we need a little older Superman and that is none other than Jon Hamm.
Hope you guys liked this cast, ill be back soon with another cast.
