Technology today is a wonderful thing. It is a tool of communication and information. It also makes for the advancment in entertainment more breathtaking as well,by making what we thought was impossible a reality.
When I was a young boy flipping through comic books, you could only imagine if they had the technology to make superheroes do the things they did in the pages of the books on the screen.I am older now and have seen most of my favorite shows and movies remade with some of the greatest computer visual effects. You know what?It made me nostalgic for "the good old days".

The Incredible Hulk was always my favorite Marvel comic book hero, but it was the series that made me pasionate about the character. For me,Bill Bixby brought so much to a role that could easily have been underplayed.Bill brought many complex layers to the role of David Banner. He made him human.Which brings me to the Hulk himself.Lou Ferrigno.

Today the Hulk is brought to life onscreen by way of CGI effects. He looks massive and truly incredible. He also looks like a video game character. As much as the the effects people try, when you see the Hulk interact with a human actor it feels cold and fake. You can tell he is an effect.

When David turned and you saw his green eyes and the familiar hum of the hulk out,the viewers excitement built. Finally after ripping out of his shirt and shoes the Hulk flexed and roared on our screens.Lou was massive. He looked like a chiseled piece of jade. After the Hulk was done tossing some guest baddie across the room,he would then flex, growl and then turn away and run.

The action was great, but what made Lou so great as the Hulk was the emotion.Even though he never spoke on the series, through his eyes, face and body language Lou expressed the inner emotions of the Hulk. The best scenes were before the creature transformed back into David, where he was calmer and reflective. Some great stuff that worked and made you look past the shortcomings of the budgeet and special effects.

I started this fan page in hopes that people of all ages, who remembers fondly to a simpler time could get together and share some meories of this great show and others like it.

I think Ed Norton is great as Banner. He is an actor who is great in everything he acts in.He is a good blend of the comic book character and plays him a bit like Bill Bixby,as well. His performance is an obvious nod to Bill and the show.
I do agree the Hulk in the movie looks awesome but the point I was making was Lou's underated performance of the creature brought so much to the screen, that you almost forget you are watching a bodybuilder in makeup.
Go to hulu and watch the episode Married. This two hour movie opened season two and really was standout in acting and story. Also the two part season four opener Prometheus shows how much can be done with the budget the crew had to work with.Producer Ken Johnson was a smart storyteller, knew his limits and made it work.
If you compare the Hulk to other sci fi shows of the time, you see how it can be done without being cheesy and jjuvenile. That is how talented Ken and Bill were.
