Captain America By Remender and Romita Jr
Due to it's Frank Milleresque narration pre-self-Parodicality ("That Yellow Bastard"), or perhaps it's clear flow of action sequences by JR Jr, or possibly it's length of 22 pages unlike other Marvel NOW $3.99 books (equivalent of $4.99 in some small towns in the UK) caused directly by the poverty stricken Disney buyout of 2 billion dollars (hmm..) or the thematic groundwork which is not only subtle but hilarious for anyone with an analytical background or varied interest in Lit or Psychology, Captain America was very enjoyable.

Warning: Subtle spoilers up ahead. The main narrative begins with Captain America battling against the Eco-terrorist cell group led by Green Skull on a plane. Cap than meets up with his on again off again booty call Sharon Carter as they debate whether or not Cap should start a family, Cap begins his decision by kidnapping a baby (if Cap of course goes pro choice by the end of this arc I'd sure like to see how this'll be resolved).

Although claimed to be a pulp sci fi storyline it cannot be helped but be noticed that there are several underlying themes that hit closer to Noir elements then a sci fi underlay. With the flashback sequence positioned right next to the present day we cannot help but notice.. is Cap not suffering from an irrefutable Oedipal complex, an anti-father pro-strong independent blondes with great big hooters that remind him of his mother, is not every enemy in this book an oppressive masculine reminder of his father to defeat? And the baby if a "clone", as it maybe suggested, could the baby not be a representation of the son/brother that would inevitably result from an Oedipal union. And is that not twisted thematic set up?
An amusing take and hopefully a satisfying ending let's see what this arc brings.
Result Freudian Satire
Bought it, very happy.
