X-Men - FANCAST

X-Men - FANCAST

This my first in a while, due to being unhappy with the others I've created since my last upload.

For this fancast I've casted characters who I'd like to see in a movie and who'd I like to see play them, though some characters were left out due to not finding an actor I was happy with, e.g. Colossus, or seemed to fit better in a sequel, e.g. Kitty Pryde.

FANCAST - X-Men

Professor Charles Xavier - Hugh Laurie 52 6'2.5" (House, Stuart Little)

The one and only choice in my opinion.

Logan/Wolverine - Tom Hardy 33 5'10" (Inception, Layer Cake)

One of my favourite actors and I have seen him suggested for this role before and I do believe he would absolutely destroy as Wolverine.

Scott Summers/Cyclops - Matt Bomer 33 5'11.5" (White Collar, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning)

My favourite X-Man. I may have seen this casting before I'm not sure, but this guy deserves a chance to be in mainstream movies, he is a good actor and I think he'd do great as the team leader of the X-Men, Cyclops.

Jean Grey - Yvonne Strahovski 29 5'9.25" (Chuck, Mass Effect 2)

Incredibly attractive and not a bad actress, need I say more.

Bobby Drake/Iceman - Garrett Hedlund 26 6'2.5" (TRON:Legacy, Death Sentence)

A good up-and-coming actor, who deserves more big roles, and due to the continued debate on whether Iceman should be young or older I've gone with an inbetween.

Ororo Munroe/Storm - Angell Conwell 28 5'4" (Soul Plane, Baby Boy)

Actually saw this actress in JacobCityBros all-Black Spider-Man fancast and thought she looked like she could do a good Storm.

Hank McCoy/Beast - Jon Hamm 40 6'0.5" (Mad Men, The Town)

A fan favourite for the role and a clearly talented actor.

Warren Worthington III/Angel - Armie Hammer 24 6'5" (The Social Network, Blackout)

Another fan favourite for the role, second only to Alex Pettyfer and I chose Hammer over him because Angel is supposed to look like the perfect human and lets face it Hammer is tall, handsome and looks like he could pack a punch.

Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler - David Tennant 40 6'1" (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Doctor Who)

Tennant is an amazingly talented actor and I believe he could do Nightcrawler down to the T.

Brotherhood of Mutants

Erik Lensherr/Magneto - Christoph Waltz 54 5'8.5" (Inglourious Basterds, The Green Hornet)

Despite his size I'd say he was perfect for the role but I still believe he could find a way to make his Magneto as memorable as he was as Hans Landa.

Raven Darkholme/Mystique - Rhona Mitra 35 5'7" (Shooter, Hollow Man)

Talented actress, attractive and can kick butt.

St. John Allardyce/Pyro - Kevin Pennington 24 6' (Miss March, Spring Breakdown)

Don't actually know much about this actor only seen Miss March with him in it, but I saw him as one of the choices in SuperDude001's X-Men poll fancast, and just thought he looked like he'd be good as Pyro.

Sabertooth - Richard Armitage 39 6'2" (Captain America: The First Avenger, Robin Hood)

A good actor and if he buffed up dyed his hair blonde and grew Sabertooths muttonchops, we'd have a pretty damn good Sabertooth.

Mortimer Toynbee/Toad - Jackie Earle Haley 50 5'5.5" (Watchmen, Shutter Island)

Unoriginal, I know, but I just think he'd be great as Toad.

Other

Senator Robert Kelly - Bill Nighy 61 6'2" (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Hott Fuzz)

Bill Nighy is a great actor and could easily get us to despise him as Senator Kelly.

Thats it and let me know what you think in the comments below.

- I wouldn't mind Yvonne Strahovski as Jean Grey. But I prefer her as Mockingbird (she can nail the character's jocular side; ). Claire Danes would be a good choice since she made a convincing redhead - and actress - in Terminator 3.
- I know Armie played a similar character to Angel in The Social Network, but I tend to avoid typecasting. To me, an a thousand others here, he'd be perfect Colossus (young and just an inch below the character's actual height).
- DDD said it himself on HailToTheKingBaby's X-Men fancast: Magneto has to be taller than Professor X. Christoph Waltz is a hell of an actor, and he's been working on perfect an American accent (ne The Green Hornet), but we need someone closer to Hugh Laurie's weight.
- Not a bad pick for Pyro. At least someone's thinking outside the box instead of going with the usual Jamie Bell choice.
- Richard Armitage doesn't strike me as a good Sabretooth. I know the character isn't an animal-like character, and more of a serial killer, but Armitage would be my choice for... probably Dr. Doom. Cliched pick, but why not?
- Can't say anything about Jackie as Toad. At his age, though, can he do action. Toad moves around alot.
- Bill Nighy needs a good American accent, and I can definitely approve of him as Senator Kelly. ;-)

Be sure you check out my Blade the Vampire Slayer fancast.

Liam Neeson, why did you not cast him as Professor Xavier, he would be the odds on favorite as Xavier

For Wolverine, how about Joel Edgerton as Wolverine

Cyclops, I will actually agree with you on Matt Bomer

Jean Grey, definitely Rachel Nichols for the role, she would own

Iceman Garrett Hedlund would be perfect for the role

Storm, Zoe Saldana is the odds on favorite for that role, not that Angel Conwell is a bad choice because she isn't, but she is a little bit of an unknown for the role, so that would work against her

Jon Hamm would definitely own as Beast, that much I will agree with you on

How about Justin Hartley as Angel/Warren Worthington III, now that is an actor who would own in the role of Angel

Nightcrawler, Joseph Fiennes now he would make an awesome Nightcrawler

Waltz as Magneto, that much I will agree with you, he would own in that role

As Mystique, Sienna Miller, would be perfect

Cam Gigandet as Pyro, now he would definitely own in that role

As Sabretooth, Tyler Mane he was perfect as Sabretooth, so why not bring him back for the reboot

As Toad, why not Andy Serkis, now that is an actor who would own in that role

As for Senator Kelly, how about Bill Pullman, now that is an original casting choice for that role

Where are characters like Rogue in this fan cast, where is Gambit, Shadowcat/Kitty Pryde, Jubilee, etc.

Eh, it's alright. It would work on film.

I've cast Jon Ham for Beast myself...he's good
for the blue furball.
But I like him for PUNISHER better!

Bomer would be OK for Cyke.

Waltz is too short for the statuesque MAGNETO.

ANGEL is listed at 6', Armie is 6'5".

Bobby Drake (ICEMAN) is a shorter guy than the
quite tall HEDLUND but Garrett is a good actor.

Don't see TENNANT as KURT or ARMITAGE as SABRETOOTH...
whatsoever and HALEY is too old for TOAD.
