Possible Running Time For BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Revealed

In case it isn't already obvious, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is going to be a huge movie which not only pits The Dark Knight against the Man of Steel, but also assembles the Justice League to take on Doomsday! That probably goes some way in explaining this epic running time...

All everyone is talking about right now is Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but 2016's blockbuster season is just around the corner and will kick off in style with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Anticipation is clearly at an all-time high in Germany anyway as tickets are already available for pre-order, and the site selling them claims that the movie's running time is 151 minutes. That's a butt numbing two and a half hours, but really not that much longer than Man of Steel's 143 minutes! Anyway, it remains to be seen whether or not this is accurate, but be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news in the usual place. A new TV spot for the movie can be found here.

Nice. I can't wait for this, I actually like that it's longer. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has a lot to cover, I already feel like I'm gonna want to re-watch this on Blu-Ray a billion times, haha

The DCEU is gonna be EPIC. I wonder what the run time for Suicide Squad will be

It's really not that much to squeeze in

1. Show why Bats hates superman
2. Superman "on trial"
3. Batman fights Superman
4. Lex's plan revealed
5. They all fight Doomsday

And obviously Lex, Diana, Bruce, and Clark/Lois are going to have their own little scenes sprinkled throughout.

Seriously, this movie could be done in an hour and a half.

@TheDarkKnight1939
The first 20-30 minutes will probably be all batman backstory, kind of like Krypton was the backstory for MOS in the beginning.

It would still be better than 2 hours of comedy for kids as seen in Marvel movies.

They have A LOT to cover so this is expected. Imma definitely need to take a long nap before I see this haha. Be well rested and get my energy up.

They really shouldn't have shown stuff so early, I'm already gassed out on the film to the point where I keep forgetting about it. You build an initial hype meter, but it slowly goes down over time, I'm almost back to zero here, I just want to see the God damn movie already so I know whether to be disappointed or like it(maybe even love it, that's certainly what you hope for). Whatever, I hope for the best but I'm astounded at how much interest I've lost, it really worries me.

I'm sorry, what? Longer run time doesn't equal better product. Citizen Kane, Rashomon, Yojimbo, Empire Strikes Back, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2, and so many more films outside of comic book film and inside are great films under 150 minutes. What evidence do have to support that?

Do I remember correctly that someone said there was nearly 4 hours of raw footage?

In all honesty, for all of the stuff that's supposed to be in this film I don't think any of us should be complaining. For me personally, the longer the time the better.

@LEVITIKUZ The Dark Knight was 152 minutes... sorry couldn't resist - but your point is absolutely right. a long runtime does not make a great movie. we've had a lot of great epics over recent years, but some fantastic shorter movies too. At the end of the day it's what works for the pacing of a movie that matters.

A majority of the GA will be complaining about how long it is. DC's got way too much confidence with this.
