MTV had the opportunity to speak with Bruce Willis recently while promoting his new film Red. They couldn't help but ask about a couple of rumors that have been circulating lately. Would he be portraying Ben Grimm aka The Thing in the new Fantastic Four feature film and is there going to be a sequel to Unbreakable?

On portraying The Thing (Ben Grimm) in the upcoming Fantastic Four film..

Willis:
"[It's] a rumor, but I love rumors. I haven't gotten that call yet."

Red co-star Karl Urban"It's a good rumor."

Willis:"It is a good rumor."

On a possible Unbreakable sequel...

"You better talk some sense into [M.] Night Shyamalan, see if he can come around."

"I don't want to put him on the spot, because I've already had a conversation with him. But I think a lot of people would like to see a sequel to that film."

Hawksblueyes: Personally, I don't think Willis' voice fits my idea of what The Thing should sound like.

Nope, he's not the man for Thing, I agree with Lee... but we all know SLJ is gonna stay as Fury, sorry man.

i dunno his voice just doesn't seem right for the thing (at all)

and i'd really rather not see an unbreakable sequel
i liked it but it would be better as a stand alone

It would have to be a pretty special story for me to believe that a sequel to Unbreakable would be a good idea.

I liked Chiklis as Thing. I think that his return wouldn't hurt a reboot attempt.

Isn't there a rumor that the cast is going to be younger?

Bruce can play this part WELLLL. The way he can deliver gritty banter is a perfect casting call.

They are sure to add major sound effects to The Thing's voice to match up with the cgi body.

didnt think this was true, I would rather not see a Fox F4 movie at all after the last two abortions

poor leee, still thinks Willis is gonna play Fury, its never gonna happen now. SLJ will always be Fury and even if they get someone to replace him, it will have to be a black guy to keep continuity. Sorry LEEE, give up and move on. Complaining about it isnt going to help

hell yeah to both film. if they get bruce willis for the thing, and adrien brody for reed richards i would see true potential for the fantastic four film, and they would be awesome for the film. also the unbreakable 2 film has to happen it was his best and it would just be cool to see a few more characters added to the film that are different than normal people and to see sam jackson, and willis together again in a unbreakable film would be sweet.

and yeah fox could go the cheap way with this and get cheaper actors but it would not get people as excited as if they put adrien brody, and bruce willis in the film. im not even excited about another fantastic four film but if they use them then im sure as hell gonna watch it those guys rock. and everything that adrien brody does is pure gold i mean everything he is in has a deep story and is kinda dark love his films.see hollywood needs more seriouse actors, and nneds to focus on story in films, and the effects need to be a blend of practical and cgi. but like i said focus on story.

m night shamalamalan should not be aloud to make a single movie EVER AGAIN! and as for bruce willis as the thing, i'm all for it. I think by now we should no longer prejudge an actor for the role they will portray, remember we all thought heath ledger was a horrible choice for the joker at first but after seeing his performance OMG were we revolutionized

@Orehrepus- Nice pic! I could really see him playing as the more mature Bruce Wayne. It might be a few years before we ever see a Batman Beyond live action movie though. :(

Gotta say, Willis would have been perfect for the 616 Fury (with a hairpiece, natch). The Thing I'm not so sure; Chiklis' voice was one of the few (VERY few) things the first film nailed

Ive always said I wanted to see Bruce Willis play Bruce Wayne in a live sction adaption of Frank Miller's: The Dark Knight Returns!!! He would totally own that part... It could be his best performance since Die Hard(the original). If he could gain a little muscle that is. If not, then just get Stephen Lang from James Cameron's Avatar.

@Magicfingers: Thanks. Unfortunately, you're right, it might, if ever.

@RacerRex: Yeeewww, what a disgusting pic that is! LMFAO!
