FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot Enlists MOON KNIGHT Producers Grant Curtis And Nick Pepin

Moon Knight head writers Jeremy Slater has revealed that two of the Disney+ show's producers, Grant Curtis and Nick Pepin, are also working on Marvel Studios' upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.

Marvel Studios' upcoming Fantastic Four movie recently lost director Jon Watts, and while we've yet to learn who'll be taking the helm in his place, we do have an intriguing update on the planned reboot courtesy of Moon Knight head writer Jeremy Slater.

While chatting to ComicBook.com, Slater revealed that the Disney+ show's producers, Grant Curtis and Nick Pepin, are also "running" Fantastic Four.

“My execs on Moon Knight are the same guys who are running Fantastic Four, so we had a lot of talks about it,” Slater tells the site. “Grant and Nick are amazing executives. They’re going to find brilliant writers and brilliant directors. And they don’t need my stink anywhere near that project.”

It sounds like Curtis and Pepin have been tasked with assigning a new creative team to the film. The former has previously produced several Sam Raimi features, including his Spider-Man trilogy. Pepin, meanwhile, has been working on MCU projects ever since he broke in as a production assistant on Captain America: Civil War in 2016.

Slater actually penned the first draft of Josh Trank's F4ntastic, and is often asked if he'd lobbied or been approached to work on the next feature outing for Marvel's First Family.

"I don't think the original Fantastic Four was my fault per se, because I have one line of dialogue in that movie when Reed is about to do his science experiment as a kid, and he's like, 'Don't blow up,' I think that's the one line that held over from my script and everything else was changed," he adds. "So I don't take a lot of ownership over it, but I also know the optics of if they announce, 'Hey, we're doing a Fantastic Four movie,' All of Twitter goes 'Yay,' and they're like, 'And the guy that wrote the last one's doing it again,' and all of Twitter goes, 'You idiots!'

Spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness follow.

We still know very little about Marvel Studios' plans for the FF, but John Krasinski did appear as Reed Richards in the Doctor Strange sequel. The character met his end at the hands of the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), but the A Quiet Place star/director is expected to reprise the role for the upcoming reboot.

I don't know what producers do but hopefully they don't screw this up. I don't know at whom to point fingers for MK but it wasn't Oscar Isaacs fault, that much I know

@Crtdacct2say - Nah the general consensus was that Moon Knight was good. This is good news.

@Crtdacct2say - Depends on the project/studio, but it sounds like these guys have been put in charge of finding the next director and the writing team.

@WowMuchComicBoo - to me it was better than TFATWS but it's not like that is difficult. It had some good stuff but the writing and pacing were a mess.

If these producers can take any credit for Ep5,then I can be excited.

@AmazingFILMporg - I won't halt a valid opinion just because it's unpopular.

@WowMuchComicBoo - I’m glad for the general consensus. That backfired a few times when I liked things nobody else did. In this case I do not like moon knight But I’m glad more people do than don’t. I’m still rooting for the team you feel me

@Crtdacct2say - Pointing fingers at whoever made Moon Knight amazing?

@SerKurtWagner - no.

@Crtdacct2say - Definitely in the minority on that, Bub. It could have been longer, but overall was hands down the best D+ show so far.

@AmazingFILMporg - Last episode was a flub and a lot was left to be desired from the series regardless of general consensus

@SerKurtWagner - Whenever anyone abbreviates Disney Plus to D+ I think they're giving the show a rating of D+ lol. Also I don't think it was the best D+ show so far. Im in the minority but I feel TFAWS was the most "consistent" out of any of the shows, with a story that actually pulled me in vs a lot of fanfare and teasing, and more actual content and story.

Okay, out goes what I said about Krasinski already being the new (but as of yet unnannounced) director of FF. Still think he'd make a right fit though, and otherwise Bryce Dallas Howard would be my pick.

Also, Slater really understands the twitter mob.

@bkmeijer1 - After seeing the rumor about BDH directing and starring as Sue Storm, I'm kinda hoping they go that route. I'd also be happy if Krasinski gets the directing gig as well.

@TheFinestSmack - I didn't even knew that was a rumour. Was just the first person I though of when Jon Watts left. Not sure I can see her as Sue though

Kinda OT:

Has anyone spotted the Raimi car in MoM?

@ElricReturns - It was floating in the scene where Strange and Christine are walking in the converged world.
