Since it was first announced that a new film about Red Sonja was in development in 2006 people have made the mistake of calling it a remake when it will have nothing to do with the 1985 commercial and critical flop staring Brigitte Nelson and Arnold Schwarzenegger. It will stay far away as possible from that film.

This film is based on the Dynamite Entertainment comics and will most likely be based on issues 9-12. Robert Rodriguez said that those issues are the origin of Red Sonja.

In other news, Rose McGowan has finally had her third and final surgery on her right arm. She was kind enough to post a picture of her arm a day after her surgery on twitter:

"Aww, thx to you all for being so supportive! It's really touching, the kindness of strangers."

"My arm surgery is due2 nerve damage due 2 film stunt. It's my 3rd surgery on my right arm.Have had elbow, wrist& now another part of elbow :)"

Hopefully it will begin filming next year as planned and released either 2010 or 2011.
