Clash of the Titans To Receive Sequel!

But this time Louis will not be behind the camera.

This from Deadline:

"Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures are moving ahead with a sequel to Clash of the Titans, which the studio would like as early as spring, 2012. But they will make the journey without Louis Leterrier, who will not return for an encore as director. Sam Worthington will return, as well as most every other character that survived. Greg Berlanti will write the story and the studio is already canvassing the agencies for a writer and director who can whip the movie into shape to shoot before Worthington makes Avatar 2."

Word is Leterrior will be involved as Executive Producer but no word on what type of storyline the sequel will follow up with. The first installment released just last month has grossed over $390 million on a $120 million budget. Making Clash one of the years biggest movies. Pretty good return.

People like Greek mythology movies and Hollywood has rediscovered this fact after a pretty long drought. With a new director we will get to see first hand if Louis was the reason why the fans had a bad taste in their mouth after viewing Clash of the Titans.

It was a terrible movie. Why would they make another one. They need to make God of War movies so people can stop watching this crap.

The writers have already said if a trilogy goes forward, they will incorporate other Greek Mythology stories with more heroes and villains. One character already mentioned has been Icarus, the tragic hero who made his own wings but flew too high.

GoGoGadgetsBruh - 4/28/2010, 10:11 AM
hey maybe this means we'll get a director that one put a shit load of characters in the movie and rush the plot :)
maybe we'll get better writing
it's gonna be Perseus vs. Hades
Clash of The Titans sucked big time
please don't let Leterrier direct Avengers if Whedon isn't doing it >.< the guy is a hit or miss director and I wouldn't be surprised if the reason Incredible Hulk was good was only cause Norton kept changing the script xP

CLASH was OK..where will thw story go from here?
Does he have to fight a HYDRA? I don't get it!

Why make a follow up movie to a POOR story, that wasn't
even CLOSE to the AWESOMENESS of a story that the
ORIGINAL was..OHH YA I forgot they want $$$$$$$$$$!

Meh, that's really all I can say about this. Meh.

If they make a sequel. It better not be with Perseus. His story more or less ended in the first movie. There are different heroes, different myths, different monsters, use them. The OTHER gods could use a little more screen time. And the tone should more then just a fun adventure, which was the vibe that I got when I did see it. I loved the original Titans because it was a great blend of action, adventure, and a little bit of eerie creepiness. I don't really know how I could explain that but it was a mesh of different things that made the movie the classic it is today. Anyways I'll see what happens but I'm not all that excited for this.

God of War would be better, but it seems those Hollywood people have all run out of original ideas. I'd like to see a movie where the "hero" gets killed halfway through and the rest of the flick is fueled by that death and the repercussions. The closest I've seen to that is 300, where the King's death inspired all the city states to unite to fight the Persians.

BIGBMH - 4/28/2010, 11:30 AM
Wasn't a very good movie. I'm pretty sure he still wants to kill Hades though, so that might be the direction it takes. Now he has Zeus and the rest of the gods on his side, since they're ticked off at Hades too. Maybe it will be like God of War. Perseus=Kratos
Hades=Ares.

I thought the movie was decent. Didn't live up to my expectations, but I liked it nonetheless. I will definitely watch a sequel.

i say use aries the god of war and have him create an army of creatures like hydras, chimeras, giants, satyrs, and centaurs.or something just make sure its a great story, and use those creatures and characters

i also think people love great sci fi,and monster flicks if they have great story ,and characters. and its time for more films like that. were is the remake to creature from the black lagoon?and a remake to resident evil like the first game, and a underworld begins?any ways bring us some good old monster flicks/killer animals flicks, some good old sci fi films, and greek myth.

Zero - 4/28/2010, 12:09 PM
But the remake was so boring... The original was better, in my opinion, and even that wasn't too great. I watched it in 3D knowing the movie wasn't good just because I wanted to see the Kraken. Even that was disappointing lol The only good thing I liked about the movie was Gemma Arterton. I think she's cute, and I just love her voice and the way she talks. Don't know why, but I do lol

But a sequel was expected.

*spoilers*

Hades survived, after all.

So not even a month after a piece of shit like Clash comes out, a sequel gets greenlit. But, a sequel to something actually good like District 9 can't get one confirmed several months after release.

This movie was shite. But at least with Leterrier off we can hope for a better movie this time, but I'm not holding my breath.

The entire movie was a fail. I came out wanting my money back. Sam didnt even bother to change accent. The only worthwhile thing about that movie was watching Madd Mikkelsen.

'Sup Ms Kyle! I hope 2 will be better than 1. I do want to see a director's cut though to see how Letterier envisioned the film before the editors cut it to shreds.

So is there anyone left that hopes Leterrier get the Avengers gig? HAhaHhahaH what a fkn hack. Let's hope this puts his constant lobbying for a chance to make another one of his bad Hulk movies to bed for good.
