WHY DIDN'T THE REMAKE DO WELL? ...WHAT WAS IT?

The remake was pushed out in mostly 3D cinemas and most people couldn't be asked to pay the extra bucks for that. I wanted to see it but had to wait for the Blu Ray because every cinema here was showing it in lousy 3D!

Much better Conan adaptation but had a lousy end sequence.

You need to leave that word "faithful" out of the movie description.

Sorry Gunsmith, but I prefer the less-muscled, but still muscled, lithe and agile Conan. ;-)

It was very faithful to the feel and essence of Howard's Hyboria and Conan, but the script and directing left a little to be desired.

There wasnt really nothing wrong in Momoa´s Conan (except i think he could have been little bit more muscular).
The movie itself just sucked really bad.

Basic stupid Warrior falls in love with a princess and avenge his fathers death story.

For me,Momoa was much closer to Conans description in the books.Bearing in mind that he's still young in that movie and could have gotten bigger with age in the sequels.Shame the movie was a let down.

The sword featured in the original movie never appeared in the original stories. Conan just used different weapons which he saw useful (or thats what i´ve understand).

As entertaining as the original movie was it was not an accurate representation of Robert E Howard's Conan. The new Conan movie, which was not a remake, wasn't the best movie, but the character of Conan was a better portrayal of the real Conan. The best portrayal of the Conan character is found in the current comic run by Dark Horse!

hey Mark, really cool article; this stuff excites me too. How come you don't ever credit the artist on your articles like this one?

Momoa was fine.

It was the plot and dialogue that sucked.
Everything else was fine

loved the new movie, what's your problem with it? was it too close to what conan was really supposed to be? is that it? you don't like people to make movies that are more accurate to their original stories? oh ok then....

Mamoa's Conan was an excellent Conan movie. Those who diss it don't want Howard Carter's Conan; they (yeah, you) probably also like a 6'2" skinny Wolverine and a Professor X with hair and a blue sister too.
